Understanding the User Interface (UI) — Rocket League Guide

Explore all Rocket League car bodies, from common to import rarities. Learn how to unlock each Battle-Car and discover console-exclusive vehicles in this comprehensive guide.

This guide details the various vehicle bodies, also known as Battle-Cars, in Rocket League. These are the fundamental components for player customization. The game features ten standard car bodies, with four available by default and six unlockable through gameplay. These default cars are classified as Base rarity and fall into one of six Body Types. Psyonix introduces new Battle-Cars through Blueprints, the Item Shop, and the Rocket Pass, with over 75 vehicle bodies available.

Base

Most Common bodies can be unlocked by completing matches. As of Patch v1.79, the default cars are Octane, Breakout, and Merc. Previously, the default cars included Octane, Gizmo, Road Hog, and X-Devil. On August 3, 2017, Psyonix introduced painted variants of some Common bodies obtainable via the trade-in system, classified as Import rarity.

Breakout, Octane, and Merc are granted to all players from the start; other cars are unlocked via New Driver Challenges.
