Bodies, also known as Battle-Cars, are the most basic and important method of player customization. Rocket League features ten standard car bodies. Four of these vehicles are available by default: Octane, Breakout, and Merc. The other six require completed matches to unlock. These ten default cars are classified as Base rarity. Each vehicle body is assigned to one of six possible Body Types.
Psyonix introduces new Battle-Cars via Blueprints, the Item Shop, and the Rocket Pass. There are currently over 75 vehicle bodies.
Base Vehicles
Most Common bodies can be unlocked simply by completing matches. The default cars available from the beginning are Octane, Breakout, and Merc. Other cars need to be unlocked via New Driver Challenges.
On August 3, 2017, Psyonix introduced painted variants of some Common bodies, which could be obtained via the trade-in system. These variants are classified as Import rarity.
