Walkthrough for Quake IV's Dispersal Facility level. Learn how to defeat the Harvester and navigate the area on foot to reach the Dispersal entrance.
Walkthrough
- 1Start by moving forward and destroying the Gunner on your right.
- 2Two Hornets will drop two Rolling Turrets ahead; prioritize eliminating the Turrets first, then the Hornets. Use the machine gun for both.
- 3Enter the tunnel to face Strogg infantry and two Gladiators. Use the Rocket Launcher for close-range combat against Gladiators.
- 4Exit the tunnel and follow the road, engaging three Strogg Marines and two Flying Turrets with your machine gun.
- 5As you cross the bridge, you'll be attacked by a Hornet, followed by two Heavy Hovertanks. Use the machine gun against them and destroy their missiles.
- 6Walk through the gate and destroy the two Flying Turrets beyond.
- 7Proceed through the next tunnel filled with Strogg infantry.
- 8In the next area, you'll be bombarded by Strogg Flyers, then encounter one Heavy Hovertank. Continue forward, shooting two more Flying Turrets.
- 9In the next area, face one Flying Turret and one Hornet.
- 10Enter the tunnel ahead, encountering several Flying Turrets, Gunners, and a destroyed convoy.
- 11Outside, two Flying Turrets will attack, followed by two Hornets and Rolling Turrets.
- 12Further ahead, you'll face Strogg Marines, Heavy Hovertanks, and one Flying Turret. The machine gun is generally sufficient.
- 13Leave this area, following a road through a short tunnel.
- 14The road ends; jump down and continue. You will encounter a Harvester.
- 15To defeat the Harvester: shoot down its homing missiles with your machine gun or take cover under large pipes. The pipes can be destroyed, so don't rely on them indefinitely. Use approximately 50 rockets to destroy the Harvester, alternating with the machine gun for missile defense.
- 16After defeating the Harvester, walk to the area it was protecting, near the building.
- 17Exit your Walker. Run across the bridge to enter the building and find an exit panel to complete the objective.
Tips
- The Walker is slow and has a weaker shield than the Hovertank, but thicker armor. Both armor and shield regenerate slowly.
- Switch between the Walker's rocket launcher and machine gun using the mousewheel.
- The rocket launcher fires up to six rockets rapidly but is slow to reload.
- The machine gun is effective against infantry and fast enemies, and for destroying missiles.
- When facing the Harvester, prioritize destroying its missiles or using cover.
- The Dispersal Facility level introduces Tactical Transfers, which are improved Strogg Marines. Use cover and powerful weapons, though the machine gun can be used for sniping.
