Learn the best strategies for snagging Zigzagoon, Slugma, Noctowl, Flaaffy, Skiploom, Quagsire, and Misdreavus in Pokémon Colosseum. Get tips for purifying Shadow Pokémon!
Hey there! So, you've stumbled upon the Outskirt Stand area and are looking to snag some new Pokémon. This spot is actually a fantastic place to train up your team early on, especially if you want to purify your Shadow Pokémon faster or just need some extra EXP. You can revisit these trainers anytime, so don't stress if you don't catch 'em all right away!
Specific Pokémon to Watch For:
- Slugma: Honestly, this one's a breeze. It's pretty weak, so catching it shouldn't be a problem.
- Noctowl: Keep an eye out for its Hypnosis move! If it puts your Pokémon to sleep, that's actually a good thing for snagging. Sleep status makes catching much easier.
- Flaaffy: This one's got the Static ability. You'll definitely want to snag it, as Paralysis is super helpful when you're trying to catch other Pokémon.
- Skiploom: Should be an easy catch. Just use a move like Confusion to take out its teammates first, then weaken Skiploom until it's in the yellow or red HP range.
- Quagsire: Be careful, Quagsire has Water Absorb, meaning it heals when hit by Water-type moves. If you snagged Croconaw earlier, don't use its Water moves against Quagsire! Just weaken it with something like Umbreon's Bite.
- Misdreavus: A couple of Shadow Rush attacks from your Johto Starter should do the trick. Just watch out for its own Shadow Ball attack.
After Snagging:
Once you're done catching, head back to the green building near the entrance of town. Use the PC there to heal up your team. You can deposit your weakened Pokémon and immediately withdraw them to fully restore their HP. This is also a good time to swap out your team. I'd definitely keep Espeon and your Johto Starter. Makuhita is also a solid choice, but you might want to bench Umbreon for now and bring in Flaaffy, Noctowl, and Misdreavus. If you picked Croconaw as your starter, stick with him over Quagsire for the time being.
Don't forget to save your game after sorting out your team! You can also chat with Chief Sherles if you feel like it.
Optional Training:
If you want to purify your Shadow Pokémon even faster, you can head back to Outskirt Stand and rebattle Willie. It's not required, but it's a good way to get some extra EXP and purification progress.
