Alright, so you've run into Shadow Hitmontop at LV38, and it's a FIGHTING type. Don't go in there trying to confuse it; that's a waste of a turn. Your best bet is to use Pokémon like Croconaw or Quagsire to slowly chip away at its health. Once it's weakened enough, start tossing Ultra Balls at it. Keep at it, and eventually, it'll be yours! Seriously, once you get it, put it in your party. It's super useful down the line, so you'll want to purify and train it up sooner rather than later.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
After the battle with Shadow Hitmontop, you'll head back to Eagun's house in Agate Village. Chat with him about the Relic Stone.
  2. 2
Catch the news report on TV. Eagun will then tell you to go see Senilor.
  3. 3
Head southeast from the Poké Mart to find Senilor. He'll give you some info about the Relic Stone.
  4. 4
Go back to Eagun. Beluh will give you the Small Tablet, which allows you to purify Shadow Pokémon at the Relic. Keep an eye out for an email after this.

Sender: DUKING OF PYRITE TOWN

Duking's got word that Mt. Battle is under attack by thugs, possibly the same group Miror B. was part of. He's asking for your help!

Before heading to Mt. Battle:

  1. Make sure you purify your Shadow Pokémon at the Relic.
  2. Go to the Relic and pick up "Ein File C," a report on Celebi.
  3. Interact with the Relic Stone and select a Shadow Pokémon eligible for purification.
  4. Once that's done, it's time to head to Mt. Battle.

Mt. Battle:

This is where you'll face 100 trainers. Cipher Admin Dakim is leading the attack on Zone 10, and you'll need to beat 9 other trainers before you get to him.
