Part 55

Master the Part 55 mission in Nioh 3 by learning Otani's moves, including his powerful combos, Sword Dash, and Air Slice. Follow our guide for strategies and tips to defeat him.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Otani's combos extend to five hits when powered up.
• He gains the 'Air Slice' attack when powered up.
• Loses power boost if his demonic ki is depleted.

Phases:

1. Un-powered: Otani performs up to three attacks in a row.
2. Powered Up: Otani gains an energy aura, increasing his attack combo length to five hits and unlocking 'Air Slice'.

Strategy:

• Maintain high health and use buffs.
• Learn the range of his attack moves to counter-attack.
• Be prepared to dodge his 'Sword Dash' and 'Air Slice'.
• Utilize your Living Weapon effectively.
• For 'Sword Dash', roll out of the way or guard.
• For 'Air Slice', roll away as it bypasses guards.

After defeating Otani, scenes will play showing his death and a conference between Mitsunari and Shima Sakon. Exit the tents and proceed through the door on the left. Collect the [_CORPSE_] and kick down the ladder. Use the SHRINE if desired and ascend the ladder. Follow the path to a bridge. To the right, you can descend to the river. A dead end to the right contains a [_CORPSE_]. Continue down the river to find another [_CORPSE_] and a scavenging soldier. At the river's end, a cubby holds statues and a [_HEALER KODAMA_].

You will reach a house on the actual battlefield, behind enemy lines. Eliminate the spearman and explore the house. Proceed towards the watchtower, noting two soldiers within; shoot them down. A tricky but effective strategy is to backstab enemies while moving towards the bridge on the right. Collect the four scattered [_CORPSE x4_] in the field (two left of barricades, one in front of the house, one behind). To the left of the house, a SHRINE and a well are located. Activating the shrine will revive enemies, making them difficult to fight head-on due to their line of sight. Alternatively, from the Shrine, head forward into the right house, exit, and kill the Samurai. The field to the right is under cannon bombardment but contains four [_CORPSE x4_].

Enter the next house and find a cowering ally. Ascend the ladder, knock down the water barrel, and jump down, killing a Samurai. Proceed past the barrel's opening to the left to find a [_SWORDSMAN KODAMA_] in a corner. Head back.

Continue right, following the right wall, to a burned building. Go around the back to kill a Samurai. Further on, a man cowers behind a tree amidst cannon fire, and a [_CORPSE_] lies in the field. You will reach a small creek.
