Master the Joro boss fight in Nioh 3! Learn its moves like Web Spit and Jumping Slam, and discover strategies to exploit its weak points for an easy victory.

Alright, so you've made it to Part 31, and it's time to face Joro. Honestly, this boss isn't too bad, especially compared to some of the earlier fights. Joro moves pretty slowly, and a lot of its attacks are telegraphed or just don't do much damage. Plus, it's not super aggressive, so you'll usually have a moment to back off and heal up if you need to.

The best part? Joro has a huge weak spot right on its backside, so you know exactly where to aim. Just like with any boss, use everything you've got. Fire is particularly effective here, so if you have any Fire Talismans, now's the time to use them. Check out its moves below, keep the pressure on, and heal when you need to. Stick to its back, and you'll take it down in no time.

Boss Moves:

  1. Web Spit: This move is designed purely to annoy you. Joro spits a blob that turns into a giant web on the ground. It doesn't hurt you, but it slows you down like the webs you've seen throughout the level. Try to avoid these to keep your mobility. Joro can spit out three or five blobs at once, covering a huge area. If this happens, quickly move to the other side of the room.
  2. Leg Attack: This is Joro's standard frontal attack. It lunges forward and attacks with its two smaller front legs. The range is pretty limited, but Joro can chain these into a 1-4 hit combo. If you move away quickly, it might stop after just one swing. It's also very slow, giving you plenty of time to dodge to the side and get in some hits.
  3. Slow String: This is similar to attacks from the regular spiders in the level. It's a frontal attack that inflicts the 'Slow' status if it hits. Dodge left or right as soon as you see it coming. If you do get hit, play defensively until the effect wears off.
  4. Jumping Slam: Joro jumps into the air and slams its body down where you were standing. It takes ages to do this, so unless you're completely out of Ki, you should have no problem dodging out of the way.
  5. Lunge Attack: You won't see this one too often, but Joro can lunge straight at you. It's a simple frontal rush attack that you can dodge by moving left or right. You should find this easy to avoid.
  6. Defense Mode/Body Spin: You'll see Joro enter this 'mode' at some point. It crouches down and covers its rear with its legs, trying to protect itself. While it doesn't offer much protection, it unlocks the 'Body Spin' move – a 360-degree spin attack with its backside. Only watch out for this when Joro is in 'Defense Mode'. Stick to a 'hit and run' approach to stay safe.

After you defeat Joro, you'll get to see one of the game's more interesting cutscenes. A mysterious man will transport you to a 'Hidden Teahouse.' It's pretty bizarre, and he has a magnificent beard!

After some less-than-stellar tea, you'll obtain a new Guardian Spirit: Possessed by Itokuri via spirit division.

The man's name is Danjo, and don't worry, you'll be seeing more of him. You'll also unlock the 'Hidden Teahouse' ability.

Additionally, the Sub-Mission 'The Disappearing Ranjatai' becomes available.

You should definitely visit the 'Hidden Teahouse' after this mission. It seems like it's set up for PvP CLANS, though that feature might not be fully implemented yet. What you *can* do right now is select a 'Clan' to fight for. Each clan offers different bonuses, so pick the one that best suits your playstyle.

Now, let's move on to the next mission!
