Unlock any car and race in any series in Gran Turismo 2, regardless of HP, drivetrain, or traction. Master the Simulation mode and conquer all tracks.

Gran Turismo 2 offers a deep racing experience with two distinct modes: Arcade and Simulation. While Arcade mode allows for immediate racing with chosen cars and tracks, Simulation mode presents a more challenging path. To progress in Simulation mode, players must earn driver's licenses, purchase vehicles, and win trophies to unlock new courses. The game boasts an impressive roster of nearly 620 cars and 27 unique race tracks.

A significant departure from its predecessor, Gran Turismo 2 enables players to race events individually rather than as part of a continuous tournament. The ability to qualify for starting grid positions has also been removed. The game introduces rally racing, featuring challenging, winding dirt tracks like Pikes Peak, which offers both Hill Climb and Downhill variations.

Gran Turismo 2 was the first in the series to support DualShock vibration and also featured compatibility with Namco's NeGcon controller. This extended compatibility to many third-party steering wheel controllers that utilized the NeGcon system, providing a superior experience for driving games compared to the standard Dual Analog/Dual Shock analog sticks.

Expanding upon the foundation of the original Gran Turismo, this sequel delves further into realism, incorporating both featured circuits and a wide array of race cars categorized by their respective series.
