Discover glitches in Gran Turismo 2, including the 98.2% completion cap and track length errors.

100% Completion Glitch

It is not possible to achieve 100% game completion in Gran Turismo 2. Sony of Japan has stated that due to a production problem, the highest achievable completion percentage is 98.2%. The remaining 1.8% is believed to be the drag racing mode, which was apparently left out of the final game.

License Test Glitch

During license tests (licence tests), if you miss the Bronze requirement by a very small margin, the game may display "Get Kid's Prize" instead of "Failure". This message is accompanied by a mascot image of a green and yellow flag with two black dots for eyes.

Track Length Unit Glitch

The track lengths listed in Gran Turismo 2 have the incorrect unit attached. It appears the tracks were measured in meters, but the game displays "feet" without converting the numerical values. For example, the Test Track's straightaways are individually longer than the listed total track length, indicating a significant error in unit conversion.

Tips
  • Focus on achieving the best possible times in license tests, as missing Bronze by a tiny margin can trigger the "Get Kid's Prize" message.
  • Be aware that the listed track lengths are inaccurate due to a unit error; use them as a rough guide only.
  • Do not expect to reach 100% game completion; aim for the maximum possible 98.2%.
