Weapon Spawning and Usage

Garry's Mod offers a vast arsenal of weapons, ranging from the default Half-Life 2 weapons to countless custom firearms and melee tools available through the Steam Workshop. Understanding how to spawn and effectively use these weapons is fundamental to combat scenarios, sandbox creations, and many popular gamemodes.

Weapons in Garry's Mod are typically spawned from the 'Weapons' tab in the spawn menu. This tab is organized by category, making it easier to find specific types of firearms, explosives, or melee weapons. Many addons introduce new weapons, which will appear in their own sub-categories within the spawn menu once subscribed to and downloaded.

Spawning Weapons:

• Spawn Menu: Open the spawn menu (default key 'Q'), navigate to the 'Weapons' tab.
• Categories: Browse through categories like 'Pistols', 'Rifles', 'Explosives', 'Melee', etc.
• Selection: Click on a weapon to spawn it in front of your player.
• Custom Addons: Weapons from subscribed addons will appear in their respective categories, often with custom icons.

Once spawned, weapons are typically picked up by walking over them. You can then equip them using your weapon selection keys (usually number keys 1-9 or the mouse wheel). Each weapon has its own unique properties, including damage, fire rate, accuracy, recoil, and ammunition type.

Weapon Usage Tips:

1. Ammunition: Most weapons require ammunition, which can also be spawned from the spawn menu or found on the map.
2. Reloading: Press the reload key (default 'R') to replenish your magazine when empty.
3. Primary/Secondary Fire: Many weapons have a primary fire mode (e.g., shooting) and a secondary fire mode (e.g., aiming down sights, firing a grenade launcher).
4. Recoil and Accuracy: Learn the recoil pattern of each weapon for better control. Standing still generally improves accuracy.
5. Weapon Addons: Be aware that custom weapons may have unique mechanics, fire modes, or require specific ammunition addons.
