Chapter 6: Light the Way

Objective: Head for Section G
Follow Tifa and Barret down the ladder, go east across planks, and enter the Control Room.

Objective: Head for Section H
Go South to fight 2 Grashtrikes, then East and North to area G-04. Descend stairs to G-05 and follow the linear path. Note the Materia in H-07, which will be marked on your Map but is inaccessible from this side.

The square area to the West is a dead end with 3 Grashtrikes and a Chest containing a Remedy. Defeat the enemies, collect the Remedy, backtrack East, and go up the stairs. Follow the linear path through G-06 and G-07, down stairs, up a ladder, and past fans. Another Materia is visible but unreachable for now. You will reach H-01 with the cargo platform.

Objective: One Sunlamp Down
Recuperate at the Bench. Head East then North and climb the stairs. Clear enemies, then head North to turn out the first lamp. Backtrack South and move the platform to proceed South.

Objective: Two Sunlamps Down
Follow the linear path East then North, clearing enemies. Continue East and turn off the second lamp.

Objective: Three Sunlamps Down
Descend the ladder and ride the horizontal lift West back to H-02. Go South to ride another lift East. Optionally, detour West to recuperate at the Bench before taking the lift. Go South and counterclockwise around the C-shaped area.

In the SW corner of H-05, descend the ladder next to a Chest. Head NE for a battle against 2 Queen Grashtrikes. After defeating them, use the control panel to move the platform ALL the way down and retrieve the MP Up Materia from atop it. Raise the platform to cross and retrieve the Elemental Materia.

Return South and West to the ladder at H-06 and climb up. Head East and South to another control panel. Move the platform down and left to cross. Clear enemies, then climb the ladder to douse the third lamp.

Objective: Power for the Platform
Head for the marker at H-01. Descend the ladder, cross the moving platform West, go clockwise around the C-shaped area, then North to take the lift West and proceed West to the bench.

Rest at the bench. Look at your Map for an unvisited area to the West. Ride the new lift West to this area. Climb the ladder and enter the room. Purchase Music Disc #18 from the vending machine.

Interact with the console in this room. You have one minute to enter the adjoining room, defeat any enemies, and interact with another console to stop the timer.

Prepare for the fight: Equip Cloud with Elemental Materia and Ice Materia in his Buster Sword's paired slots. Ensure Tifa and Barret have Lightning Materia.

Boss Strategy:
Cloud attacks the Queen (second alcove on the left) in Punisher Mode until Berserked, then uses Blizzara/Blizzard. Barret uses Overcharge on a Sentry Ray, then Thundara/Thunder. Tifa attacks the Queen and uses Thunder on a Sentry Ray. Focus on eliminating the Sentry Rays, then finish off the Queen Grashtrike. Head North and interact with the console to open the door.
