Chapter 16: The Belly of the Beast

Objective: Infiltration
Proceed through the area, facing increasing numbers of enemies in each group.

Objective: Shinra Building Intel/Acquiring the Keycard
Once inside, take the stairs. You'll discover you need a keycard to open doors at the North end. Tifa will find a car to climb on to progress. Before climbing a ladder on the first landing, go West, then South, then West again to find a purple Chest containing Tifa's Purple Pain weapon. Return to the first landing, climb the ladder, and follow the path to find the keycard.

Objective: Use the Elevator/Emergency Stairwell
You can choose between the elevator (involving fights) or the emergency stairwell (Barret complains). Talk to the hologram, open the East door, proceed North, and ride the escalator to the 60th floor.

Objective: Playing the Tourist
Navigate the Memorial Museum and exit through the SE door. Follow the path and wait for the Guide to finish speaking to open the SW door. Exit the Business Division Exhibit through the SE door, wait for the Guide again, and exit North. Go around the Midgar model, use your keycard to exit North, go upstairs, and enter the Cosmos Theater. Use your keycard again to exit the theater and speak with the Mayor.

Objective: A Helping Hand
After exiting the Mayor's office, speak with Hart. Pay him 10,000 Gil for information and Barret's EKG Cannon weapon. Open the Chest at the North end of the circular area to retrieve 3,000 Gil. Use the SE door to go down a level, then exit North. Take the escalator to the 63rd floor and use your keycard to enter the South area. Head West toward the vending machines and exit South. Go up the sweeping staircase to the 63F Upper Level -- Recreation Facility. At the SE end, find the vending machine that dispenses Music Disc #31, completing your collection and earning the Disc Jockey Trophy.
