Far Cry 2 Part 22 walkthrough: Learn how to get the King's ring, rescue your buddy, and complete objectives.
Walkthrough
- 1After the briefing, exchange your current sniper rifle for the AS50 sniper rifle found on the floor.
- 2Return to your vehicle, attempting to bypass the guard post. If more than one sentry is present, you may need to engage the garrison, ideally from close to the safe house.
- 3Retrace your inbound route to your car.
- 4Drive north past the bus station, staying off-road and to the east to bypass the guard post, then cut west toward the safe house east of the objective.
- 5Use the high rock outcropping across from the safe house as a sniping platform to eliminate the three defenders and avoid the patrol truck. This safe house is useful for saving and advancing time.
- 6Move west from the safe house and approach the fort via the dirt path near the eastern cliffs.
- 7Stay to the east side of the path after the derelict bus, using the cliff face and brush for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) from the two snipers on the battlements.
- 8Use the AS50 sniper rifle to eliminate the sniper on the west tower, then advance to eliminate the sniper on the adjacent east tower.
- 9If the snipers return fire, the garrison may alert, but they won't know your location.
- 10Proceed up the winding path toward the eastern entrance, checking for patrols from the fort or the western guard post. A lone sentry may investigate.
- 11Enter through the eastern portal, turn left into the chamber, then right, then left, and ascend the staircase. Enemies will not follow you to the King's chamber.
- 12Confront the King and kill him; he will draw a pistol. Use your machete if you were not detected. Do not forget the King's ring.
- 13If you were detected, you will be targeted as you exit the King's chamber and descend the stairwell. Reach the east portal and sprint out of the fort down the dirt path to return to the safe house. A dune buggy is available south of the safe house if needed; travel south past the garage and up the dirt path hill to find it.
- 14Return to the briefing safe house to give the ring to the Prince. Follow the same route you used to get there and out again. Taking an offered vehicle may lead to battles with the guard post, patrolling SUV, and troops near the marina; sneaking on foot is easier.
- 15Drive north through the scrublands directly to the oasis.
- 16Descend the ladders and interact with the gold cache to complete the mission. Gunfire will erupt.
- 17Climb the ladders to find your buddy besieged by enemy troops.
- 18Climb both ladders and immediately put distance between yourself and the six or more combatants. Go north among the scattered boulders.
- 19As you sprint away, enemy attention will shift to you. Snipe from a rocky area and flank left, creating distance. Use Molotovs and grenades.
- 20Switch to your assault rifle or shotgun as enemy numbers decrease, or if your AS50 sniper rifle jams, and work your way back to your buddy.
- 21Heal your buddy when hostilities cease long enough, and help him eliminate the remaining hostiles before departing.
Tips
- The AS50 sniper rifle may jam but offers excellent range for the fort's entrance.
- The safe house east of the objective provides an ideal sniping platform and a place to save.
- Use the cover of the cliff face and brush to mask your position from snipers.
- Enemies will not follow you to the King's chamber.
- If you need a vehicle after retrieving the ring, a dune buggy is located south of the safe house.
- Sneaking on foot past hostiles is easier than fighting if you take an offered vehicle.
- The buddy rescue at the oasis can be one of the toughest in the game, especially on "Infamous."
- Going to your downed buddy immediately is likely death for both of you.
- Create distance from the initial ambush before engaging.
- If you take excessive damage and require a buddy rescue yourself, the extra gunman can make the rescue easier.
