Outside on the Isle

Learn how to start your journey on Bitterblack Isle in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. This guide covers Olra's request, item purification, and initial exploration.

Purification Mechanic:

Olra can purify cursed items found on Bitterblack Isle for Rift Crystals. Items come in four types (Armor, Gear, Novelty, Weapon) and three levels of quality, with higher levels costing more Rift Crystals. Novelties include materials, tools, and scrolls for learning Augments.

Olra also offers inventory management, skill/vocation changes, and access to the online store.

Bitterblack Notice Board:

• A Notice Board behind Olra offers fetch/kill quests that reward Bitterblack Isle gear.
• More Notice Boards can be found throughout Bitterblack Isle.
• A bed is available south of the Notice Board for resting.
• A junk-bearing chest is behind the Notice Board.
• A Rift Stone and static Portcrystal are northeast of the Notice Board, allowing teleportation from Gransys.

Exploring the Exterior:

• Southern paths lead to gates that serve as shortcuts to the surface, but cannot be opened from the exterior initially.
• Mining spots along the cliffs can yield new materials like Hunks of Platinum, Lava Rocks, and Moonstones, as well as familiar ones.
• To find rare loot, explore the path east of the dock.
• Scale the eastern-most short pillar along the seaside cliffs (requires Double Vault or Levitate).
• From the top of the pillar, use Levitate to reach a ledge to the south.
• Continue south on the ledge to find a ramp leading east, which elevates to the north.
