Navigate the Realm of Piercing Winds in Death Howl. This guide covers The Breathing Chasm, The Hidden Vale, and The Glacial Maw, including side quests and secrets.

Welcome to the second part of our walkthrough for Death Howl. After defeating Cantharsis, the Great Spirit, we’ve unlocked the path to The Howling Mountain. Ro must now venture into the Realm of Piercing Winds to continue her quest.

This guide covers the Realm of Piercing Winds, which is split into three zones: The Breathing Chasm, The Hidden Vale, and The Glacial Maw. You can enter the realm through either The Breathing Chasm or The Hidden Vale, both accessible via The Meadows of Delusions. This walkthrough will guide you through The Breathing Chasm first.

The Breathing Chasm

To unlock the map of this zone, you must first activate the nearest Sacred Grove, located in the northeast. Head east, defeat the first Spirit encounter, and loot any crafting materials from the cave. Continue north to find and activate the Sacred Grove.

Reap or Weep Side Quest: Head northeast to a small empty section. Interact with the large creature to trigger the quest. Retrieve its lost eyes from a hidden cave near the northwestern Sacred Grove. Loot the Bear Skull Totem from a nest along the way. Talk to the Moose spirit near the Sacred Grove for a free Teardrop point. Find the cave entrance next to the Moose, collect the Reaping Eye, defeat the ambushing enemies, and return to the quest giver for the Opal Totem reward.

Two-Headed Spear Hidden Side Quest: Make your way to the third Sacred Grove in the southwest. Read the inscription on the rock about two pieces of a spear. Find the two Spear Head quest cards: one near the nest at the zone entrance, and the other below the northwestern Sacred Grove. During a battle, use one Spear Head card, then combine it with the other to create the Two-Headed Spear. Complete the battle, return to the rock inscription, and interact to enter a cave. Defeat the Elder Spirit encounter to receive three Teardrop upgrade points.

The Hidden Vale

Return to the Sacred Grove in the southwest of The Breathing Chasm and head left to enter The Hidden Vale. Follow the lower path, defeating Spirits and avoiding the Elder Spirit encounter for now. Continue left and north to find another Spirit encounter. Beyond this, you'll find the Sacred Grove and a fallen Spirit. Activate the Sacred Grove to reveal the map.

The Laughing Face of Death Side Quest: After resting at the Sacred Grove, the Spirit revives and jumps off a cliff. Rest again, talk to the Spirit, and it jumps off again. Rest a third time, exhaust the dialogues, and the Spirit...
