Guide to Store Location #1 in Dead Space 2. Purchase the Engineering Suit for 1000 Credits, find the Rivet Gun and Refurbished Plasma Cutter, and prepare for the Tripod encounter.

This section covers Store Location #1 in Dead Space 2. Here you can purchase the Engineering Suit for 1000 Credits, which provides 10 inventory slots and 5% armor. If you have a cleared Dead Space save file, you can also find the Refurbished Plasma Cutter here. The Rivet Gun may also be present. Both weapons will sell for 0 credits.

After visiting the shop, exit to the emergency arrival area. This leads to a vacuum with a 120-second oxygen supply. A Power Node can be found here. Proceed through the area to a large room.

You will encounter a Tripod, a three-legged creature. Use Stasis on it and target its weak spot, a slightly yellow portion on its front legs. Shoot the weak spot 2-3 times to detach a leg. A Stasis module is available behind you for refills. Repeat this process for the other leg. Once the Tripod is on the ground, shoot its tongue, which is also a weak spot, to kill it.

After the fight, Isaac will speak with Daina. Loot the Tripod's corpse for a gold semiconductor and search the surrounding area for scattered boxes.

Enter the vehicle bay, go down the ramps, and through the next door. Use Kinesis to break the panel marked with a blue marker and enter a shaft. Crawl through to reach Chapter II.
