Alright, let's get you sorted with Bench Location #2. Before we dive in, a quick word on upgrades: I personally put a couple of nodes into the Plasma Cutter's damage and capacity, but always keep at least one node spare just in case. You never know when you'll need it.
First things first, shut down that trash compactor and make sure you loot the locker nearby. As you start heading down the ramp, brace yourself – a Spitter, two Necromorphs, and an Exploder are going to pop out. Luckily, you've got the high ground, so take them down and then head into the compactor itself.
This is where you'll encounter your first 'Zero Gravity' area. Remember, you can press L3 to launch yourself and to land. Honestly, the controls feel pretty natural here, almost like you're just floating in water.
Grab the floating items, and instead of going straight, duck into the room on your left. You'll find a few open lockers and, more importantly, a Power Node. Now, head through the other door. There are some controls in here that will open up the hatch you need to descend.
Here we go! Start heading down the hatch. Keep an eye out for any large debris flying your way. You can use L2 to boost and R2 to reorient yourself so you're 'right-side up' relative to the ground. Just travel a short distance down this tunnel to a door on your right. Oh, and you'll snag the 'One Small Step' trophy here too.
But it's not all smooth sailing. The lights are about to go out. Grab the two green boxes right in front of you and head up the ramp. You'll pass a wide-open area and make your way towards a door. You're right to suspect an ambush – a Necromorph will burst from the vent on the left. It's just the one, so take care of it. The door ahead requires a Power Node to open. Inside, you'll find some random items, a Bronze Semiconductor, and your first Med. Health pack.
To your right, there's a power pack that's come loose. You'll need to use your Telekinesis (TK) to put it back in its socket. This will restore power to the area and get the elevator working. Hop in the elevator to continue. When you exit, grab the Power Node on your left and head through the door. Up here, you'll notice a lot of candles – pretty spooky, right? The 'dead' Necromorph on your left could use a few shots. Be warned, it's 'pregnant,' meaning several small crawlers will emerge from it. The rifle is your best bet for dealing with these little guys.
You'll find more crawlers in the apartment straight ahead, along with some goodies and a text log called 'Sally3.' Head down the hallway into the room you're supposed to go into. Grab the item from the bathroom, then enter the kid's room for another… 'Nicole moment.' Grab the item from the desk and move through the door into another hallway.
Move up this hallway for a Stasis Pack and a good vantage point of the Unitologists' area. Go through the next door, and you'll see a gunship taking aim at you. Keep moving through the next door, and prepare for a Necromorph to jump out from the left. Deal with it, then get into the elevator nearby. There's a save station on the left if you need it.
As you enter this large open area, the door behind you will slam shut, trapping you. A corpse directly in front of you will have an Infector appear near it and start to turn it – blast it quickly. You'll also see an Exploder emerge from the left vent behind it; hit its yellow weak spot for an easy kill. We're not done yet, though. Your best bet is to head up the stairs on your left and wait for the next wave. Two Spitters and another Exploder will come after you, plus another Infector is lurking, turning corpses into Necromorphs. Take care of the Spitters and Exploder first, then hunt down the Infector. Once it's dead, the gates will open.
Now, gather all your loot. Keep an eye out for the [Javelin Spears Schematic] in the elevated area where you made your stand. Once you've looted everything, head further into the madness. This next area is lined with boards where you can listen to the history of Unitology if you're curious. Head through the next set of doors when you're done with the lore.
Out here, the gunship will start firing, forcing you into space and making you hurry. Run to the right and head for the door in front of you to escape the gunship and proceed to Chapter IV.
After escaping the gunship, you'll enter the church. Isaac will have a brief chat with Daina, and you'll be shown how to use your locator to find save stations and stores. Your objective marker points right, but the store and bench are to the left. Let's head left!
Enter the left door, then the door to your right to get into a small cubby area containing the text log 'Tour Staff.' Head up the stairs past the gift room and up to the reading room. You'll get a video message from Patient 5/Strauss. In the reading room, you can find another text log ('Two Tines'), some goodies, and a Power Node. As you leave, be ready for a Necromorph to jump down.
Head back down and enter the gift shop. It's a small area, but it has everything you could need, including a save station, a bench, and a store.
