Learn how to defeat Experiment No. 124, a tougher version of Sephiroth, in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Includes strategies for Draw Slash, Heartless Angel, and more.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Mission 5-4-6: Experiment No. 124 is unlocked after completing Mission 5-2-3: Experiment No. 109, which itself is unlocked late in the game during Chapter 10. Continue completing subsequent missions to eventually unlock this one.
  2. 2
The boss, referred to as Experiment No. 124 or pseudo-Sephiroth, is a more difficult version of the story Sephiroth fight. He does not summon Materia but has new tricks.
  3. 3
He moves slowly and often teleports. He has a brief period of invincibility after teleporting, and may teleport multiple times consecutively.
  4. 4
Draw Slash: Sephiroth charges and slashes in front of him. This attack deals damage based on your max HP (e.g., 87,999 damage on 99,999 HP) and will leave you at critical health if you were at full HP. The shockwave extends its reach, so be wary of being too close.
  5. 5
Heartless Angel: This attack cannot be guarded or dodged and will always leave you with 1 HP. It can seemingly go through guards. If you have a Null Physical buff, it can block this attack. Always have healing items ready to use immediately after being hit by Heartless Angel.
  6. 6
Regen: Sephiroth will use Regen to heal himself for over 13,000 HP per tick. His actions can be interrupted by attacking him, offering a chance to stop Regen and other attacks.
  7. 7
Wall: He can cast Wall to reduce incoming damage.
  8. 8
Energy and Flare: Dodge when the screen fills with light to avoid Flare's damage.
  9. 9
Normal Attack: He can perform a multi-hit normal attack up to four times.
Tips
  • Costly Punch can be effective, but the boss's teleporting can be disruptive.
  • Magic attacks like Tri-Thundaga and Flare are viable. Energy is less effective than on larger enemies.
  • Aerial Drain is a great choice as it damages the enemy and heals you.
  • Keep a stock of X-Potions for healing after Heartless Angel or Draw Slash.
  • Be prepared to heal immediately after Heartless Angel leaves you at 1 HP.
  • Interrupt Sephiroth's actions whenever possible to prevent him from using Regen or other powerful attacks.
