Find the best locations for gold coins in conan exiles, including Buccaneer Bay and The Unnamed City, and learn how to craft them.
The easiest way to get gold coins in conan exiles is by looting treasure chests. These are technically called Loot Chests when you hover over them, and not all of these chests will contain gold coins throughout the game world. However, there are a few places where gold coins and gold bars are essentially guaranteed to be present in loot chests. The two most profitable regions for this are Buccaneer Bay, located in the far northeast of the Exiled Lands map, and The Unnamed City, located in the far western part of the map.
Buccaneer Bay
The Buccaneer Bay region is by far the most profitable for treasure (loot) chests that contain gold bars and gold coins. As mentioned above, you’ll find this area in the far northeast of the Exiled Lands map, directly north of the Forgotten City of Xel-ha. The bay is distinguished by a great number of sunken pirate ships, all of which you can find easily by swimming around them underwater.
There are over ten treasure chests to be found underwater around Buccaneer Bay, and after looting them they will respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) within a couple of hours, so you can keep farming this area as much as you want. You can check the screenshots below for an overview of the chest locations, but do note that each chest icon (which we’ve placed ourselves for your convenience) may represent the location of more than one chest underwater, since some are clustered together.
Once you’ve thoroughly looted all the chests around Buccaneer Bay, there are three other locations to the south of it where you can find additional shipwrecks. These are further apart so it’s less convenient to farm them, but they’re worthy sources nonetheless. Be sure to check the screenshots below for their locations.
The Unnamed City
The second best location for treasure chests that contain gold bars and gold coins is The Unnamed City. This is a far more inhospitable place than Buccaneer Bay, so you’ll need to be careful as you explore it. There are tough enemies that roam the entire region, and you can quickly succumb to corruption if you’re not careful. For this reason it’s a good idea to bring some Performer thralls and have them dance next to you, as this is the easiest way to keep corruption at bay, assuming you have the thralls to begin with.
If you don’t have any Performer thralls yet, check our Best Combat Thralls page to find some. Alternatively, you can consume a Heart of a Hero to instantly remove all corruption, craft some Cleansing Brew potions (requires Herbal Tea and Yellow Lotus Blossom) to remove it, or if you’re lucky enough to have the Champion’s Leggings, you can wear these to remove one point of corruption every thirty seconds. Whichever method you choose, just know that you’ll need one of these before you can explore The Unnamed City properly.
You’ll have a higher chance for finding gold bars and increasing amounts of coins in these chests within The Unnamed City.
Khitan Exiled Traders
Another reliable method for obtaining gold bars and coins comes from the new Khitan Exiled Traders. These can be found at the Mek-kamoses’ Spire, located northeast of The Unnamed City, southeast of New Asagarth, or almost directly north of The Summoning Place. Here you’ll find the two Khitan Exiled Traders located either side of Mek-kamoses, who is now only present as a talking head in a basket. You can speak with them to exchange either 15 Blood Crystals or a Severed Head of Kurak for an Ophidian Magi’s Cache.
The Ophidian Magi’s Cache will be present in your inventory once you’ve made the exchange, and you can use it to open its contents. You have a good chance to acquire both gold bars and gold coins from these caches, alongside a range of other useful materials.
Craft Gold Coins From Goldstone and Gold Bars
If you still have a thirst for gold coins and you’ve used all of the above methods, you can turn to crafting to get more. This still requires you to farm specific materials in order to obtain more Gold Bars and Goldstone, however. You’ll probably want to do this after looting chests or trading with Khitan Exiled Traders regardless, since you’ll have a decent amount of gold bars already. These can be transformed into gold coins using a Casting Table, but you’ll need some Iron Bars to make a Coin Mold first.
Craft Coin Molds Using the Casting Table
The Coin Mold recipe requires 15 Iron Bars per mold, so it’s a rather expensive method. However, if you have plenty of iron bars stowed away, you have nothing to lose. Either way, iron is much easier to acquire than gold, so ultimately, it’s all about helping you on the journey to getting more gold coins. Once you have a coin mold, you can combine it with a Gold Bar to craft 30 Gold Coins. It’s not the best conversion rate, but it all adds up if you’re dedicated to the process.
