Walkthrough for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3's 'The Great Bear Trap' mission in Havana. Includes objectives, strategies, and tips for defeating Oleg and his Kirovs.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by using Spies to bribe Engineers and Bullfrogs, while Attack Dogs stay near the Mirage Tank. Bribe infantry units ahead and capture the Crane and War Factory with Engineers, then sell them or ignore them. Avoid Hammer Tanks and bribe the infantry blockade on the road.
- 2Garrison combat infantry in nearby buildings to deal with the Bear. Once ready, bribe the Apocalypse Tanks.
- 3At the Soviet Base, capture the Construction Yard and repair it immediately, or sell it for funds. Use Apocalypse Tanks and other units to attack the rest of the base.
- 4Oleg has deployed buffed Kirovs. Retreat all available forces to the new base. Giles will help prevent Kirovs from escaping Havana.
- 5Build a fleet of Apollo Fighters and Vindicators, then construct a Seaport. Bomb the Refineries to the south and secure the Nodes.
- 6Once the Anti-Air on the southeastern island is clear, use Cryocopters to freeze the facility and bomb it, or have a single unit attack it after the area is clear.
- 7Have Giles clear the base in the northwest and secure its resources. If Combat Engineers remain, return them to the Blue base and build Battle Bunkers.
- 8Using Soviet Technology, build a fleet of MiGs to support Apollos in hunting Kirovs. Continuously send Century Bombers to bomb facilities.
- 9For a naval approach, build a fleet of Destroyers and Aircraft Carriers to target the Naval Base to the north, preventing Soviet fleets from attacking. Carriers can also bomb the rest of the Soviet Base.
Tips
- Use the Mirage Tank cautiously, moving only when Blue forces are ready and sticking together. Its Gap Generator disguises it as an enemy unit, so use it as a spotter.
- Employ Hydrofoils to counter Kirovs. Beware of Dreadnoughts and Akula Subs attacking the Green Base.
- Secure the Resources to the northwest.
- The Soviet Naval Yards are a high-priority target.
