A complete walkthrough for the Colosseum area in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, detailing enemy encounters, item locations including the Blood Cloak and Agunei sub-weapon, and boss strategies.

Upon entering the Colosseum, you'll find large torches near the entrance followed by an area for a dropdown. Descend while hugging the right side. A save room is located on the right. After saving, drop to the bottom and proceed through the door on the right. You will encounter several Blade Soldiers, which are easily defeated. Each torch contains a sub-weapon: the first holds the Axe, the second the Rebound Stone, the third the Holy Water, and the fourth the Knife. If you already possess a sub-weapon, striking the candle will yield a Heart Max Up instead. The Axe, Knife, and Holy Water are recommended for the upcoming boss fight.

Exit this room and continue along the bottom of the Colosseum towards the left. You will encounter Bone Scimitars, Paranthropus, and Hunting Girls, all manageable opponents. After the Hunting Girl, you'll reach the far end of the bottom section. Here, you will find the Blood Cloak, a valuable item that converts damage taken into hearts. It is recommended to equip this cloak for future use.

Return from this room and climb halfway up, then proceed through the horizontal section on the next level. After encountering a few more Hunting Girls and passing a red elevator cage, you will enter a small room with Axe Knights and Valhalla Knights. Staying too close to the doorway may cause the Valhalla Knight to knock you out of the room. This area can be tricky and dangerous. You can defeat the first Axe Knight by spamming sub-weapons, then move forward to avoid being thrown out. Alternatively, this room serves as a shortcut to the other side of the Colosseum, and you can bypass it without missing any crucial items.

Head back and ascend above the save room, then proceed to the next section of the Colosseum to the left of the previous drop. You will encounter Skeletons. Continue left until you see a barricade and a blue circular object, which is the next relic you are seeking. Ascend the small vertical shaft using the platforms on either side. In the new room, you will face another Blade Soldier and the Blade Master, a more challenging enemy in this area. He can withstand some attacks but will eventually be defeated. After defeating three Blade Masters and two Blade Soldiers, proceed through the door on the left. Upon dropping down, you will have two paths: the right path leads to the boss fight, and the left path leads to the final part of the Colosseum. It is advisable to explore the rest of the Colosseum before engaging the bosses.

Take the left path. You will see another section to drop into. Jump over this section and walk over the button on the ground to lower the barricade, allowing exit to the Royal Chapel. The Knight Shield was previously obtained on the other side. In the torch near the button is the Agunei sub-weapon, a powerful projectile that shoots lightning in a straight line. Holding Up + Square/Circle allows for continuous lightning attacks, but it consumes five hearts per use. This sub-weapon is rarely found elsewhere in the castle.

After deciding whether to take the Agunei, drop down the left side, hugging the wall. You will find another save room, mirrored from the other side of the Colosseum. After saving, drop down to face the Owl Knight and his owl companion. Defeating the knight leaves the owl to attack, while defeating the owl causes the knight to mourn, leaving him vulnerable. After the Owl Knight, you will face the Plate Lord again, who should be easier to defeat. Next, you will face another Owl Knight, followed by a Grave Keeper guarding Green Tea, who believes himself to be skilled in karate.

Leave the Green Tea room, pass the Owl Knight, and ascend to the next level. The room on the right, past an Axe Knight, is the junction to the difficult room mentioned earlier. With the map coverage complete, jump over the drop to the left. You will encounter the Armor Lord, who requires some time to defeat. The final room before the boss contains the Shield Rod, a one-handed weapon that is quick and has special abilities. When equipped with a shield, you can hold out your shield and press the attack button.
