Once these are met, travel to the Great Pagoda Shrine in the New West (Chapter 3) area. Head to the wall at the back to reach Mount Mei. Proceed to the Shrine to prepare for the fight.

Preparation:

  • If you have completed the Loong Scales Quest, craft the Golden Loong Staff. Its bonus to the charged Pillar Stance attack is powerful with at least three Focus Points.
  • If you are fighting Erlang as soon as possible, craft the Bull-King Mythical set from the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast in Chapter 5’s Secret Area. Equip a different headpiece to retain your Dodge ability, as the 4-set bonus disables it.
  • Equip Curios to defend against Lightning-based attacks, as Erlang uses them frequently.
  • Max rank your chosen Spirit (Wandering Wight is recommended).
