Guide to the Black Myth: Wukong Rice Cocoon Quest. Learn where to find Rice Cocoons, how to get the Proto-Amourworm, and how to feed it in Zodiac Village.
Walkthrough
- 1Find Rice Cocoons: Proceed through Chapter 4 until you defeat The Second Sister. Drop into the hole behind her to enter the Webbed Hollow. Break cocoons found throughout the area; some have a chance to drop Rice Cocoons. Look for areas with a high density of cocoons. Suggested locations include:
- From the Upper Hollow Shrine, go left and up the stairs, then follow the path around the back of the house to a large area full of cocoons.
- 2Facing the Upper Hollow Shrine, go up the stairs to the left, follow it around to an opening with more cocoons. Continue behind this area (do not drop down) to find an even larger area with more cocoons.
- 3Get the Proto-Amourworm: Continue through the Upper Hollow area until you reach the Verdure Bridge Shrine. Cross the nearby bridge, head left, and trigger a short scene. Head right to loot chests, and just beyond, you will find the Proto-Amourworm. You will need to defeat the Elder Amourworm to obtain it. Prepare for poison and use spirits that can stagger, like the Wandering Wight. A fully upgraded A Pluck of Many is also effective.
- 4Use and Feed the Proto-Amourworm: Travel to Zodiac Village using the Ruyi Scroll. If you don't have it, complete Chen Loong’s Quest at the North Shore of Bitter Lake in the New West (Chapter 3). In Zodiac Village, speak to Chen Loong and deliver the Proto-Amourworm. Rest at the nearby Shrine. Locate the new pot to the right of Chen Loong's three pots and approach it. You can now feed the Rice Cocoons to the Proto-Amourworm.
- 5Obtain the Elder Amourworm Spirit: Feed all three Rice Cocoons to the Proto-Amourworm. After feeding each one, use the Shrine to rest. Upon the final refresh, a Spirit will appear in place of the Proto-Amourworm. Absorb this Spirit to obtain the hidden Elder Amourworm Spirit.
Tips
- Rice Cocoons can drop from any broken cocoon, but areas with higher densities are more likely to yield them.
- Cocoons respawn over time without needing to use a Shrine.
- The Elder Amourworm fight is not particularly difficult if you are prepared with poison protection and staggering spirits.
- Resting at a Shrine after feeding each Rice Cocoon is crucial for the final step.
- Elder Amourworm Spirit
