Lorule Field

Your expert guide to Lorule Field in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Learn how to navigate the area, find Maimai, and prepare for the Swamp Palace.

Alright, so you've made it to Lorule Field! This area can be a bit tricky, especially with those big ol' Hinox monsters lurking around. Don't let them get you down, though; we'll get you through it.

First off, those Hinox are tough. They'll chuck bombs at you like they're going out of style and charge right at you. The worst part? They often show up in groups. Your best bet is to keep your distance, try to lure them out one by one, and then use your Hookshot or something similar to stun-lock them. Keep hitting them while they're dazed, and you'll take them down.

From the Blacksmith's house, head down the stairs. You'll see two bomb-throwers waiting for you. Don't bother with them! Just run back up to the Blacksmith's house, merge into the wall, and sneak around to the north side. You're looking for Maimai #51 in this area. Once you've got them, merge back into the wall and come out on the north side of the house. Then, head up to the next screen. When it feels safe, drop down.

The monsters down here aren't as bad as the Hinox, but keep an eye out for a green rupee that's actually a Rupee Like monster. Sneaky, right?

Now, make your way to the top-right corner of the area. You'll find the Fortune-Teller's hut there. Honestly, with this guide, you probably won't need it, but it's good to know it's there. From the tent, head down to get back to the Blacksmith's area. Go all the way down and then take the exit to the right.

You'll find two more Hinox a bit further to the right. This time, you've got a bit more room to move around, which is nice. If you want to fight them, you can! Just rain down sword beams and arrows. Or, if you're feeling brave, try stunning them with your Hookshot or Boomerang and then hack away. Just remember to stun them again if they start to recover.

Keep heading right, and you'll reach a castle gate. On the right side of this gate, you'll find Maimai #52. Go up through the gate. You'll see a weather vane and the entrance to Lorule Castle. It's sealed up tight by Hilda's magic right now, so you can't go in yet. On your way up to the castle, watch out for Moblins. You can either burn their shields with the Fire Rod or snatch them away with the Hookshot. Once you're done dealing with them, head for the bottom-right of this area and dash the tree to find Maimai #53.
