Eastern Palace Area

Navigate the Eastern Palace Area in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Find the Great Fairy, decipher Ravio's clues, and prepare for the dungeon.

Alright, so you've made your way to the Blacksmith's place after leaving Kakariko Village. Don't mind that witch flying overhead for now, she's not important just yet.

From the Blacksmith's shop, head down and to the right. Take the exit on the right to get back to the Hyrule Castle area. Keep heading right, go past that big bridge, and take the exit at the very end, heading south. Just keep walking down, pass your own house, and take the exit on the right.

Now you're in a new area, and you're getting close to the Eastern Palace! Keep heading right. Watch out for those green bouncing enemies, and then walk up across the big bridge. Be careful, there are Octoroks waiting on the other side! Once you're past them, keep going right, past some statue pillars, and take the exit to the right.

You'll see a line of trees here, with a Crow perched on one of them. Keep going right past the trees and make your way further right. Watch out for another crow on a tree – deal with it the same way you did the last one.

In the top-right corner of this screen, you should spot a cave. Head inside to find a Great Fairy who will fully heal you. Once you're back outside, go left and take the north exit nearby. You've now arrived in the Eastern Palace area, a place filled with ancient ruins!

Walk up carefully, keeping an eye out for the Octorok moving around between the arches. When you get to the stairs, the camera will show you a strange setup of objects.

Take a look at the weird signs on either side of the locked door. Ravio's left you a hint here! Also, notice the pillars on either side of the raised steps – they have a bow and arrow design on them. Looks like you'll need to pop back and see Ravio at your house to figure this puzzle out.

Head back the way you came to get to Link's House. From where you are now, go down one screen, then left.
