Guide your journey through Lorule's Swamp Palace in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Learn how to navigate this dungeon and recover the Sage's painting.
Alright, you've just finished a rather strange sequence and popped out into a room that feels familiar. Don't get too comfortable, though! Your next step is to head through the door on the right. Keep moving right along this spooky balcony – if you're feeling impatient, you can use the Pegasus Boots to dash your way there. Once you reach the end, take the door that leads upwards. A pretty important cutscene is about to play, marking the start of the second half of the game.
After that, Link will take another nap (yes, a third one!) and wake up in what looks like the Blacksmith's house. But is it really? Head outside, and you'll step into the dark world of Lorule. As soon as you arrive, Princess Hilda will send you a telepathic message. Your main mission now is to find the seven paintings of the Sages, which are hidden away in Lorule's seven dungeons. Keep in mind, because of all the massive gaps in Lorule, you'll often need to pop back over to Hyrule and find a way into these areas from there.
Lorule really does feel like the Dark World from A Link to the Past, both in looks and theme. A lot of the places are the same, but there are some big differences. For instance, Lorule Castle is where that golden pyramid used to be, and you can't just wander from one area to another like before. You'll mostly be using those portals to get around, so forget about just running from Kakariko Village to the equivalent of the Lost Woods in Lorule.
Remember how earlier you could tackle the second and third dungeons in either order? Well, things are a bit more open now. You can actually tackle the next seven dungeons in pretty much any order you want! Just a heads-up, though: one of them, the Desert Palace, requires you to have completed another dungeon before you can even get inside.
For a quick reference, here's a look at the dungeons, where you'll find them in Hyrule, and the cool gear you can snag:
| Dungeon Name | Dungeon Location | Hidden Item |
| Dark Palace | East Palace | Master Ore |
| Thieves’ Hideout | Kakariko Village | Master Ore |
