Dungeon 9: Dark Palace

You'll find yourself in a boss arena facing the Gemasaur King. At first, just keep your distance. The boss will charge around the room, and if it gets too close, use your ability to merge into the walls to avoid taking damage.

When the boss stops and prepares to attack with its tail spikes, quickly plant a bomb right in front of it and then back away. If you have your shield raised, you can deflect the spikes. If you're lucky, the bomb will damage its mask and drop some rupees.

After a few successful bomb hits, the boss's mask will shatter completely, revealing its head and dropping a lot of rupees. Now, when it pauses or you can get to its side, slash at its head. Be careful not to get trampled! Keep using your shield to block its tail spikes.

Once it's taken enough damage, the Gemasaur King will scream, and the lights will go out. This is its most dangerous phase! It will start dashing around the room very quickly. Your best bet is to run to the corners of the room and relight the torches. Merge into the walls if you need to avoid its dashes.

With both torches relit, the boss will become vulnerable again. Go back to the strategy you used before: attack its head when it pauses or you have an opening. Keep up the pressure, and it won't be long before the Gemasaur King is defeated.
