Learn the best strategies for managing your bank space in World of Warcraft, deciding what to keep, sell, or store for professions and alternate characters.

The bank in World of Warcraft is a crucial location for storing items you don't need immediate access to. While default slots are available, additional space can be purchased, but it requires having a spare bag.

It's recommended to bank recipes or profession items you won't use soon, as well as crafting materials (mats) that you might need later, even if they are for a guild bank. Items that will be useful in a level or two should be kept in your inventory. Storing items you simply don't want to let go of, even if you'll never use them, is generally a bad idea.

Note: For players with alternate characters (alts), it's wise to hold onto all recipes, even if it seems costly, as alts can utilize them.

White items that are not weapons or armor are often needed as crafting materials. Many mats can be used directly in recipes or for items that others can craft, such as for enchanters or alchemists. Green items whose uses are unknown should be kept until their purpose is discovered, likely through online research.

Storing multiple weapon and armor 'options' is generally discouraged. It's usually best to sell an item once you've chosen a superior alternative, unless you are uncertain which item provides a greater benefit, in which case holding onto both might be considered.

Tanks may benefit from keeping extra gear pieces for dungeons due to taking significant damage. Similarly, it's advisable for all damage dealers to keep at least one spare weapon in case of extended dungeon durations.

For items you will never use, don't want to sell, or discard, but still wish to keep, consider using a 'mule' character. It's helpful to note down the names of such items, research their potential uses online, and then make a final decision on whether to keep or discard them.
