Utgarde Keep

Your friendly guide to conquering Utgarde Keep in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Learn boss strategies for Prince Keleseth, Skarvald/Dalronn, and Ingvar to secure your victory.

Alright, so you're heading into Utgarde Keep in World of Warcraft: Midnight! Don't let the 'Heroic' tag scare you; it's actually one of the easier ones out there, especially once you get past those initial drake enemies. The rest of the mobs are pretty straightforward. Clearing this place is a great warm-up for another nearby Heroic, The Pinnacle.

Boss Fights:

Prince Keleseth

For Keleseth, the main thing is positioning. Have everyone stick close to the table in the room. This is super important because when Keleseth freezes someone, a DPS player needs to be able to reach them *fast* to break them out. This is especially critical if the tank or healer gets frozen! Other than that, just make sure your tank is on top of picking up any adds that spawn.

Skarvald / Dalronn

This fight is a bit of a dance. You'll want to focus all your damage on Dalronn first and burn him down to about 10-20% health. Once he's low, switch your focus to Skarvald and burn him down. Here's the trick: if you kill Dalronn outright, he comes back as a super-powered ghost caster. So, the goal is to keep him alive but weak, and then try to take down both bosses around the same time.

Ingvar

Ingvar has two distinct phases. In Phase 1, just have your tank face him away from the rest of the group. He's got a smash attack that only hits the tank, so they need to eat that. For this phase, just burn him down normally – save your big cooldowns for later. When Phase 2 kicks in, immediately duck behind a pillar to avoid his first 'shout' ability. After that, unleash all your cooldowns and burn him down as fast as possible. He'll hit everyone for massive damage with the roar, and if you don't kill him quickly enough, he'll start tossing a spinning sword that you absolutely need to dodge.
