Choose your specialization: Stealth, Combat (burst damage), or Assassination.

Equip weapons: You can use any weapon except two-handed, polearms, and staves. For Assassination and Subtlety builds, use daggers. For Combat, use a slow weapon in your main hand and a fast weapon (like a dagger) in your off-hand.

Equip armor: Rogues can only wear cloth and leather armor. Early on, prioritize items with 'of the Monkey', then 'of the Bandit'. At level 80, focus on gear with Agility/Stamina, Attack Power, and then Hit, Haste, Critical Strike, Armor Penetration, and Expertise in that order.

Utilize poisons: At level 20, purchase poisons from vendors near rogue trainers. Keep poisons updated as you level.

Master combo points: Rogues use Energy and combo points for powerful finishing moves. Build combo points using instant abilities and chosen talents, up to a maximum of 5 points per enemy.

Consider Dual-Talent Specialization: While not recommended, PvP options include full Subtlety or Combat with Subtlety for 'Killing Spree'. PvE has two builds. It may be an option to main mutilate daggers until you find a slow mace, sword, axe, or fist weapon.
