The Blood Curse (Side Quest)

Complete 'The Blood Curse' side quest in The Witcher 2. Gather valuable components from Harpies to earn significant Orens and experience.

Progressing the Main Quest "The Blood Curse" directs you to locate the Visionary in the gullies. There, you will be assaulted by endless Harpies. While these Harpies do not provide much experience, they drop components that can be sold for a significant amount of money in large quantities. This quest is part of the experience and money-gathering process for your 100% journey.

To maximize experience and Orens, loot everything and speak to everyone you encounter. Only events tied to Achievements will be fully detailed in the guide, with most side quest details left for independent completion. Hoard Alchemy Components and Crafting Materials, but weapons, armor, books, and junk are safe to sell. If all Chapter 3 side quests are completed, and you need more experience, farm enemies near the main entrance to Loc Muinne. Make the Order of the Burning Rose camp hostile by attacking them after saving. This is only possible if Anais was given to John Natalis at the end of "Of His Blood & Bone"; giving her to King Radovid prevents attacking the Knights. "The secrets of Loc Muinne" sidequest in Act III offers absurd amounts of money. The "In the Claws of Madness" sidequest in the burned-down hospital south of Flotsam contains Hospital Files 1-4 and Hospital records after defeating the Nilfgaardian soldier wraith.
