Master the Logic skill in The Sims 3 by using telescopes, chessboards, and tutoring. Discover celestial bodies and earn money.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Learn Logic through classes, books, the Chessboard, using the telescope, being tutored by other Sims, or playing chess on the Computer.
  2. 2
By Logic Level 3, your Sim can use the telescope to search for and discover previously unknown celestial bodies (satellites, small stars, new planets, large stars). You can name these discoveries and they will be logged in your Sim's journal. Discovering celestial bodies can earn your Sim money.
  3. 3
At Logic Level 5, your Sim can tutor young Sims (children and teens) in logic skills, providing a powerful moodlet, improving the child's school performance, and developing their logic skill faster.
  4. 4
Also at Logic Level 5, your Sim can talk to other Sims about discovered celestial bodies. If you talk about a celestial body named after another Sim, you will receive a massive relationship boost.
  5. 5
At Logic Level 10, your Sim can tutor any Sim in all skills except Athletic and Charisma, provided the tutor does not exceed the student's current skill level. This is slower than learning through practice but faster than learning through books.
  6. 6
The Chess skill is a sub-skill of Logic. Practicing chess improves your Sim's ability and win rate.

Skill Challenges:

  • Celestial Explorer: Discover 20 new objects (stars, satellites, planets) through the telescope. This allows your Sim to talk about stars and the sky to other Sims.
  • Grand Master: Reach the last level of Chess by beating all ranked opponents. This allows your Sim to gain logic and chess skills at double the usual rate.
  • Skill Professor: Spend at least 30 hours tutoring other Sims in any skill. Once achieved, their teaching will be twice as effective, meaning the student learns the skill twice as quickly.
  • Teacher Extraordinaire: Spend 20 hours tutoring other Sims. This makes the teaching twice as effective, but less so than Skill Professor.
Tips
  • Discovering large stars is the most lucrative, though all discoveries are random in value.
  • Tutoring younger Sims provides a moodlet and helps their school performance.
  • Mastering chess through practice can allow a lower-level Logic Sim to beat a higher-level one.
