Walkthrough
- 1Mine lengthy tunnels (Hellevators) on both sides of your Jungle biome to prevent the spread of Corruption, Crimson, or Hallow. These tunnels should be at least five tiles wide, as Corruption/Crimson/Hallow cannot jump this gap.
- 2You can also line the sides of these tunnels with wooden blocks, which cannot be corrupted.
- 3Place the Witch Doctor NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) in the Jungle.
- 4Save up 1 platinum coin.
Tips
- Hardmode introduces many new enemies, new events, and much more difficult bosses.
- New ores, equipment, and rewards are unlocked in Hardmode.
- Once Hardmode starts, a diagonal streak of Crimson or Corruption will appear, and a diagonal streak of Hallow will also appear, converting parts of your world.
- Corruption and Hallow spread quickly in Hardmode.
- It is very bad if Corruption or Hallow reaches your Underground Jungle, as it is important for Hardmode progression.
- It can also be bad if Corruption or Hallow reaches your base in the Forest Biome.
- You can let your home area become Hallowed for easier farming of important items, despite the difficult enemies.
