Alright, let's talk about the Eater of Worlds! This big ol' worm is one of Terraria's early-game bosses, and it can be a bit of a surprise if you're not ready for it. It's found in the Corruption biome, and you'll need to know how to summon it or how it spawns naturally.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Head: 150/210 HP (Normal/Expert), 22/48 Damage, 2/4 Defense
• Body: 150/210 HP (Normal/Expert), 13/20 Damage, 4/6 Defense
• Tail: 150/210 HP (Normal/Expert), 11/17 Damage, 8/10 Defense
• Total HP: 7,485/10,479 (Normal/Expert)
• Weaknesses: Piercing ranged attacks, explosives (less effective in Expert). The head takes more damage but is also the most dangerous.

Summoning:

• Natural Spawn: It'll pop out automatically after you destroy your third Shadow Orb in the Corruption.
• Spawn Item: You can craft 'Worm Food' using 15 Rotten Chunks (dropped by Eater of Souls and Devourers) and 30 Vile Powder (bought from the Dryad NPC). Using this item will summon the boss immediately.

Phases:

1. Initial Spawn: The Eater of Worlds appears as one long, segmented worm.
2. Segment Splitting: As you destroy individual segments (body parts), the worm will split into multiple smaller worms. This continues each time a segment is destroyed.
3. Increased Speed: As the segments get smaller, they also move faster, making them harder to hit.

Strategy:

• Ranged is Key: Seriously, bring a bow. Weapons that can hit multiple segments at once are your best friend here. Jester Arrows or Unholy Arrows are fantastic because they pierce through the worm's body, letting you deal damage to multiple segments with a single shot.
• Explosives: Grenades and other explosives can be really effective because their area-of-effect damage can hit several segments simultaneously. However, keep in mind that in Expert mode, explosives deal 80% less damage, so they're not as reliable.
• Targeting the Head: The head segment takes the most damage, but it's also the part that attacks you directly. It's a bit of a risk/reward situation – aim for it if you can, but be ready to dodge!
• Surface vs. Underground: Fighting the Eater of Worlds on the surface makes it move faster and spit acid balls that inflict the 'Weak' debuff (lowers your defense, movement, and attack speed). While this sounds bad, it can actually be easier to manage if you've built a proper arena, especially for those piercing attacks. If you fight it underground, it won't spit acid as much, but it can be harder to maneuver.
• Expert Mode Notes: As mentioned, explosives are nerfed. Also, the Eater of Worlds will *always* fire acid at you, even if you're fighting it underground. The big reward in Expert mode is the Worm Scarf, which gives a massive 17% damage reduction – super useful for survivability!

Drops:

• Normal Mode: Coins (around 5g 36s), Shadow Scales (50-100 per segment), Demonite Ore (100-250), Lesser Healing Potions (5-15), Eater of Worlds Mask (14.29% chance), Eater of Worlds Trophy (10% chance), Eater's Bone (5% chance).
• Expert Mode: Coins (around 14g 40s), Worm Scarf (100% chance).
• Master Mode: Writhing Remains (25% chance), Eater of Worlds Relic (100% chance).
• Bonus Drops: Each segment has a 50% chance to drop a bit of Demonite Ore and Shadow Scales. With 50 segments, that adds up! Each segment also drops 8 silver, so you'll get about 4 gold just from segment drops.
