SUB-BOSS: FAKE (2)

Detailed guide on how to defeat the Fake sub-boss in Symphonia, including its stats, weaknesses, and a step-by-step strategy for victory.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The Fake is encountered in the Meltokio Sewers.

Strategy:

• Deactivate all of Zelos' attacks except for his spells.
• As soon as you enter the battle, give the "All out" order by pressing -> on the D-pad.
• Position yourself in front of the Fake and start guarding, using Guardian occasionally.
• Zelos and Genis will attack the Fake with magic from a distance.
• Raine should support the party with healing arts and use Photon when not healing.

After the fight, you will receive an 'Elixir'. Exit Meltokio's Sewers and proceed as follows:

1. Go all the way East.
2. At the fork after the Inn, head North.
3. Go through the gate and enter the door.
4. After a scene, exit and at the fork, go East into Meltokio's Dark Side (music changes).
5. Talk to the fourth person you encounter, who mentions a flower-seller (possibly Aerith from Final Fantasy VII).
6. Climb the stairs next to him and speak to the dog.
7. Go to the area where the castle entrance is, then go East into the noble area.
8. Enter the second mansion (where Wonder Chef was seen). Before entering, speak to the dog on the East side of this area.
9. Enter Zelos' mansion.
10. Watch the scene and talk to everyone if desired.
11. Talk to the butler and go to bed.
12. After another scene, return to the Elemental Research Laboratory.
13. Another scene will occur upon entering. After it, you will receive the 'Wing Pack'.
14. Return to the entrance of Meltokio's Sewers. Use the Quick Jump option to avoid traversing the sewers again.
15. On the World Map, head to Tethe'alla Bridge.

Tethe'alla Bridge:

• Upon entering, a scene will trigger.
• Go to the NE side of the main bridge for another scene.
• Go down the stairs and talk to Kuchinawa at the bottom.
• After the scene, receive 'Kuchinawa's Charm'.
• The EC controls will be prompted, showing the following:
  • Control Stick: Tilt left or right to turn.
  • A Button: Press to move forward.
  • C Stick: Tilt up or down to move forward and backward.
  • L and R Buttons: Rotate the camera.
  • B Button: Disembark EC at a pier.
• After the controls, head directly NE on the World Map and disembark at the pier near Tethe'alla Bridge. Head for Sybak.

Sybak:

• A significant scene involving Kratos will occur.
• After the scene, speak to the dog North of the Inn.
• Go in front of the Laboratory and speak with another dog.
• Go see Kate through the Secret Passage.
• Exit Sybak and head NE on the World Map into Gaoracchia Forest.
