SUB-BOSS: FAKE

Learn how to beat the Fake sub-boss in Symphonia's Triet Ruins. Get tips on party setup, strategy, and its weaknesses to secure victory and valuable loot.

Phases:

1. The Fake has no distinct phases, but its attacks can be relentless.

Strategy:

• For this fight, I recommend bringing Lloyd (that's you!), Raine, Genis, and Kratos.
• Before the battle, set Kratos's AI to only use 'Fire Ball' and 'Wind Blade' (if you have it). This keeps him focused on offense without him getting too close.
• As soon as the fight starts, press the D-pad right to set your party to the 'All Out' offensive order.
• Position yourself (Lloyd) directly in front of the Fake. Guard often and use 'Guardian' whenever you can to mitigate damage.
• Kratos and Genis will hang back and blast the Fake with their magic, keeping a safe distance.
• Raine's job is crucial here: keep an eye on your party's HP and use her healing arts to keep everyone topped up.
• Stick to this plan, and you'll defeat the Fake in no time!

After the fight, you'll snag a 'Spirit Bottle'. Now, head back to the south end of the fork in the Triet Ruins and enter the door there. Inside, you'll find a hawk enemy; this one holds the dungeon's Memory Gem. Grab it, then go up the stairs and light the torch on the wall. Head back down and light the torch on the east side of the room.

Exit that room and return to the fork. Take the middle door this time. Head south to find a chest with an 'Apple Gel'. Continue north, weave around the pillar, and grab a 'Bracelet' and a 'Life Bottle' from the chests. You'll see two blocks; push them down to the center of the room to create a makeshift bridge. Go up the ramp to find a chest with 'Savory'. Keep moving through this floor and collect 'Mumei' and '1000 Gald' from the chests. Now, backtrack down the ramp and exit the room.

Back at the fork, head north. Follow the path, push the block to the south, and open the chest for a 'Stiletto'. Light the torch in this area.

Finally, return to the fork and enter the middle door again. Follow the path to the end of the bridge you created and light the torch there. Head back to the fork one last time, go north, and make your way up the several sets of stairs. Open the chest to get a 'Circlet'. Now, you can unlock the memory seal, save your game, and step into the warp portal. Get ready, because a Boss Battle awaits!
