Stats / Weaknesses:

• Culex: HP 9,999; Weaknesses: None; Resistances: Status Effects
• Fire Crystal: HP 3,150; Weaknesses: Ice; Resistances: Fire
• Water Crystal: HP 2,520; Weaknesses: Fire; Resistances: Ice
• Wind Crystal: HP 1,620; Weaknesses: Jump; Resistances: Lighting
• Earth Crystal: HP 3,780; Weaknesses: Lighting; Resistances: Jump

Phases:

1. Culex and his four elemental crystals appear.
2. Defeat the crystals one by one. Each defeated crystal buffs Culex and the remaining crystals.
3. After all crystals are defeated, focus on Culex.

Strategy:

• Party Setup: Mario, Geno, and Mallow are recommended. Bowser can substitute, but Peach should be saved for her Come Back and Group Hug abilities.
• Key Items: Croaka Cola (HP/FP Restore), Party Cleanse (Status Effect Removal), Pick Me Up (Revive), Red Essence (Damage Block), Royal Syrup (FP Restore).
• Equipment: Equip ultimate weapons and gear that boosts defense and survivability, especially for Peach. Examples include Lazy Shell (Mario/Peach), Super Suit (Mario), Attack Scarf (Mario), Stella 023 (Geno), Star Cape (Geno), Feather (Geno), Frying Pan (Peach), Sage Stick (Mallow), Prince Pants (Mallow), Safety Ring (Mallow), Chain Chomp (Bowser), Heal Shell (Bowser), Enduring Brooch (Bowser).
• Leveling: Aim for level 30 for all characters to maximize stats.
• Opening Moves: Culex uses Meteor at the start, dealing massive damage. Switch in Peach and Bowser if needed. Use Peach's Come Back to revive Mario, then revive Mallow.
• Crystal Prioritization: Focus on defeating the Wind and Earth Crystals first due to their status ailments and unblockable moves.
• Buff Management: Be aware that defeating crystals buffs Culex and remaining ones (Physical Defense for Earth, Attack for Fire, Magic Attack/Defense for Water, Speed for Wind).
• Culex's Abilities: Culex uses Meteor every seven turns as long as a crystal remains. He also uses Shredder to remove buffs when his counter reaches three.
• Item Lock: The Wind Crystal can use Item Lock, preventing item usage until the effect wears off.
• Revival Strategy: Switch Peach out when Culex's counter nears one to easily revive the party with her abilities. Spare-Us-All can also protect the party.
• Final Push: Once all crystals are defeated, focus all attacks on Culex.
