Alright, so you've hit your first real roadblock in Mushroom Way: the Hammer Bros! Don't sweat it, they look a bit tougher than the Goombas you've been squashing, but with a solid plan, you'll send them packing. Since it's just Mario at this point, we gotta be smart about how we use his abilities and items.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 50 (each, so 100 total)
• Weaknesses: None

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Both Hammer Bros Active

   These guys have a couple of tricks up their sleeves. They'll either do a basic Hammer Attack, just a single whack, or the more dangerous Hammer Time, where four mini-hammers rain down on you. The good news? Both are blockable! For Hammer Time, even with four hammers, you only need to nail the button press once to block them all. If you're quick, you can avoid all that damage. The Hammer Bros also have no weaknesses or resistances, so any attack will do normal damage. This means you can go all out with your Jump special or regular attacks.

2. Phase 2: One Hammer Bro Remaining

   Once you take out one of the Hammer Bros, the survivor will almost always use Valor Up. This buffs its Physical and Magic Defense by 50%, making it a bit of a damage sponge. It's a good idea to save some FP for at least one more Jump attack here, as it'll still pack a punch even with the defense boost. Your physical attacks might feel a bit weak now, so relying on your specials is key.

Strategy:

• Since they have a decent chunk of HP, your Jump special attack is your best friend. It can take out about half of one Bro's HP in a single hit! Make sure you're timing your regular attacks too, as those timed hits add up and can even chip away at the second Bro.
• Keep an eye on your HP. The Hammer Time attack can hit for up to 12 damage, and with only Mario, getting hit twice could be fatal if you're not healed. Try to keep your HP above 15. If you've been saving your Mushrooms from Toad, now's the time to use them!
• Don't worry too much about resistances since they don't have any. You can freely switch between Jump specials and physical attacks.
• When one Bro falls, the other gets a big defense boost from Valor Up. Save some FP for a final Jump attack to power through the last bit of HP.
