• Recommended Level: 30 (minimum 25)
• Restrictions: No items can be used.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Johnny uses his standard attacks. Focus on timing action prompts to deal damage and avoid taking hits, as healing is impossible.

Strategy:

• Preparation: Obtain the Lazy Shell (Seed + Fertilizer in Rose Town), Hero Shirt (100 Coins from Croco in Bowser's Castle), and Quartz Charm (defeat Culex). If Quartz Charm is unavailable, use Ghost Medal (doubles defense) or Jinx Belt (Attack, Defense, Speed Up).
• Allies: Choose Geno for his Attack Up/Speed Up buff. For the second ally, select Peach (Magic Defense Up) if you struggle with magic attacks like Diamond Saw and Fire Saber, or Bowser (Defense Up) if you struggle with physical attacks like Skewer and his normal melee attack. Mallow is not recommended as Mario won't use magic attacks.
• Combat: Master the timing of action prompts for Johnny's attacks.
• Johnny's Attacks:
  • Thrust: A quick physical attack. Press the button just as the trident extends.
  • Skewer: A powerful attack that can one-shot you, especially after Vigor Up. Time your button press to the audio cue when the spinning sound stops, or as the tip extends.
  • Diamond Saw: Johnny conjures two diamond blades that fly off-screen and return. Press the button when the blades come at you from behind.
  • Fire Saber: Similar to Diamond Saw, but with fire. Timing is crucial.
• Victory Condition: Defeat Johnny before your HP runs out. Since you cannot heal, consistent successful action prompts are essential.
