Croco Bandit's Way Boss Guide

Learn how to beat Croco in Super Mario RPG (2023)! This guide covers his attacks, stats, weaknesses, and the best strategy to defeat him and get your rewards.

Alright, so you've made it through the Hammer Bros, and now you're facing Croco! He's a bit tougher than those guys, but don't sweat it. With a good strategy, you'll have him beat in no time.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• HP: 320
• Weaknesses: Fire, Fear, Poison, Mute
• Resistances: None
• Note: Croco can use a 'Weird Mushroom' to heal 60 HP once when below 100 HP.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Croco uses 'Bomb Throw' (special, ~20 damage) and 'Charge' (physical, ~15 damage). Both can be blocked. Keep Mallow's HP above 25 to avoid being one-shot. If you're around Lv4, this fight should be manageable.
2. Phase 2: Once Croco is below 100 HP, he'll use 'Weird Mushroom' to heal himself. This is his only heal, so be ready to keep up the pressure after he uses it.

Strategy:

• Exploit Fire Weakness: Mario's 'Fireball' special is your best friend here. It costs 5 FP, but a perfectly executed Fireball can deal over 100 damage, really cutting down the fight time. Try to spam this as much as possible!
• Mallow's Role: Use Mallow to either attack normally or heal with 'Mushrooms' or his 'HP Rain' special, depending on how well you're blocking Croco's attacks.
• Defense is Key: Remember that both of Croco's attacks can be blocked. Focus on timing your blocks to minimize damage.
• Effective HP: Since Croco heals for 60 HP once, his effective HP is closer to 380. Keep this in mind when planning your attacks.
• Rewards: After you defeat him, Croco drops the 'Special Frog Coin', 16 Exp, 10 Coins, and a 'Flower Tab'. You'll also find a 'Wallet' that you should return to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Once the dust settles, head back to the Mushroom Kingdom via the Map to continue your adventure!
