Learn the best strategy to defeat Fury Bowser in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. This guide covers his attacks and how to counter them to win the boss fight.

Alright, so you've collected enough Cat Shines to activate the Lakeside Giga Bell for the first time! You'll need five Cat Shines for this, and whenever Fury Bowser shows up, so does the Giga Bell. To kick off this boss fight, just head to the little island with the Giga Bell and grab it like any other power-up. Mario will transform into a giant cat, about Bowser's size!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Fury Bowser is immune to normal attacks.
• Vulnerable to Ground Pounds when upside down after landing.
• The Giga Bell power-up is required to fight him.
• The Giga Bell respawns if the fight is prolonged, but has a long timer.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Fire Breath and Shell Slam
   • Fury Bowser starts by jumping to a random spot.
   • He'll then queue up a fire breath attack.
   • After the fire breath, he retreats into his shell and jumps.
   • A red marker shows where he'll land.
   • He unleashes a shockwave upon landing.
   • He lands upside down, making him vulnerable.
   • This phase repeats until his health is depleted.
2. Phase 2: Post-Fight
   • Once defeated, Fury Bowser retreats, opening up more of the map.

Strategy:

• Keep your distance when the fight begins. Attacking him directly won't work.
• When Fury Bowser breathes fire, jump over it to avoid taking damage.
• As he retreats into his shell and jumps, keep moving to dodge his landing spot.
• Immediately after he lands and sends out a shockwave, jump over the shockwave.
• As soon as you're over the shockwave, stick close to Bowser. He'll be upside down, making him vulnerable.
• Ground Pound him while he's upside down to deal significant damage. You'll need to do this multiple times depending on how many Shines you've collected.
• Warning: If you get hit by Bowser's attacks, Mario will revert to Big Mario, and then Small Mario if hit again. Stay focused!
• Don't worry if you miss a Ground Pound opportunity; the Giga Bell does respawn after a while, but it's best to focus on Bowser to end the fight quickly.
