Navigate Part 10 of Streets of Rage 4 with our expert guide. Learn enemy tactics, boss strategies, and unlock character moves to conquer the game.
Hey there! So, you're diving into Part 10 of Streets of Rage 4, huh? Let's get you through it. Before we jump into the action, a quick heads-up on how I'll be talking about moves. Sometimes I'll use general terms like "Offensive Special," "Blitz," or "Star Move." This is because often, any of a character's specials will do the job just fine. But if I mention a specific move, like "Flashbang" for Estel, it's usually because that particular move is way better for the situation than others. And when I just say "Special," pretty much any Special move will work.
Also, I'll be distinguishing between "Basic Combos" (just mashing the attack button) and "Combo Chains," which are when you link different moves together, like a basic combo into a Blitz, then into a Star Move. It's all about keeping the pressure on!
Stage 1 - The Streets
Alright, first things first. In this stage, the main challenge is the boss, Diva. But before we get there, you'll be dealing with some familiar faces: Garcias, Signals, and Donovans.
The Garcias are pretty straightforward – they'll often just walk right into your punches. They only get really dangerous when they're armed with a knife, stun-gun, or spear, because then they'll charge at you. If you're using SOR2 Blaze, her Haymaker is a one-hit KO for a Garcia. Just a heads-up: if a Garcia is armed, don't use SOR2 Blaze's Elbow Strike Blitz, because their weapon charge will interrupt it and hurt you. Either of SOR3 or SOR4 Blaze's Blitzes, though, will shut down a Garcia's weapon charge just fine.
Donnies are a bit smarter. Unlike Garcias who just charge in, armed Donnies will hang back and hit you with their weapon from a distance your punches can't reach. They're also opportunistic – they love to strike when you're busy with another enemy or recovering from a move. You can usually jump-kick an unarmed Garcia, but be careful with Donnies! An unarmed Donnie has a nasty anti-air uppercut he's not afraid to use on jumpers. The good news is, he can only do this if he's unarmed. Armed Donnies are safe to jump-kick, just keep an eye out for any unarmed ones nearby who might protect their buddies. Also, a Donnie can uppercut SOR2 Blaze out of her Hishousouzan, but not her Elbow Smash, so stick with the Elbow Smash Blitz for her. Both of SOR3 Blaze's Blitzes are safe from uppercuts, and for SOR4 Blaze, skip the Hishousouzan and go for Rekkaken instead.
Signals are the annoying ones – they love to slide in from a distance and cheap shot you. They'll also try to throw you if you're focused on another enemy. If you approach them, they'll often run away. Their cowardly nature is actually your advantage: deliberately turn your back to them and hit them with your Back Attack. Just watch out for their slides!
Keep an eye out for a car that smashes into a wall at one point. Destroying it will net you a free Star item, which is always nice.
As you wrap up Stage 1-2, you'll face your first sub-boss. On Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties, it's just one Koobo. But if you're playing on Hardest, Mania, or Mania+, you'll have to deal with two Koobos. For these guys, just focus on wailing on them with your strongest attacks.
