Explore Tatooine in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Complete main and side quests like Hunter's License and Dwindling Supplies.
Once you have selected Tatooine on the galaxy map (a map that shows you your surroundings), a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (an event that interrupts gameplay to show a story segment) will appear. Admiral Saul Karath will explain your escape from Taris. Malak questions this, and Calo Nord appears, noted as difficult to defeat. Calo Nord agrees to hunt Bastila. Following this, you experience a dream regarding the Star Map's location. Bastila discusses the dream with you, though no crucial information is revealed.
Before beginning your exploration of the planet, speak with T3 and ask him to craft computer spikes (items used to hack terminals). He will provide them if you have fewer than 11. To ensure you have an ample supply, store your existing computer spikes in a storage container located in the Ebon Hawk's cargo hold, then request more from T3. This method allows you to acquire more spikes than you might need if you are instructed to buy or save them later.
Your other party members can also provide items upon request: Zaalbar offers grenades, Canderous provides stimulants, and Mission gives security spikes.
- 1Upon entering the ship's center, Zaalbar will inform you that the emergency supplies have been tampered with. Proceed to the storage room and select the emergency supplies.
- 2After further inspection, search the ship. You will hear footsteps. Continue searching until you are directed to the cargo hold.
- 3You will find a girl speaking a mix of Mandalorian and another language. You have three options:
- 4Do nothing: The girl will depart after you find the third Star Map, with no alignment change.
- 5Learn her language: This leads to a Light Side Point (LSP) gain. You discover she was kidnapped by Mandalorians and is from Dantooine. You must then find the person who lost her. Travel to Dantooine.
- 6Order her off the ship: This results in a Dark Side Point (DSP) gain.
- 7If you learn her language, locate the individual who lost her on Dantooine. He is a Twilek within 20 feet of the Ebon Hawk's landing area and is the only Twilek with three names. Inform him Sasha (the girl) is on your ship. Persuade him to board, and tell Sasha to join him in her own language. This results in happiness for all involved. Return to Tatooine and exit the Ebon Hawk.
- 8Dark Side players can simply order the girl off the ship for DSP and then exit the Ebon Hawk.
- 9You will be required to pay a docking fee of 100 credits (the game's currency) as you were not on the schedule. You can attempt to Force persuade the official that you do not need to pay, though this is not a Dark Side action. Alternatively, pay the fee or persuade him to waive it (persuasion has not been extensively tested, paying is simpler). You can also ask the official questions about Tatooine, as he possesses useful information.
- 10As you head towards the exit, an NPC (non-player character) will inform you that your package has arrived safely on your ship, but due to a mix-up, you are now responsible for gizka (small creatures). Do not kill them with gizka poison, as the merchant in the area sells it; you will be able to sell them later. Exit the area to enter Anchorhead.
- 11In Anchorhead, walk south to find the hunting lodge. Speak with the person standing in front.
- 12Middleman: A woman will ask for your help. Her husband died in the wilderness, and she possesses an important plate. Dark Side players can take the plate, which angers her, resulting in DSP. Light Side players should offer her the requested 500 credits plus an additional 200 for LSP. Dark Side players who do not use the Force persuasion option can still take the plate for DSP.
- 13After dealing with Sharina, enter the hunting lodge. You can speak with several NPCs here for more information about Tatooine. Dark Side players can threaten most NPCs (except the Ithorian) for DSP by choosing violent dialogue options. One hunter named Tanis offers a significant Dark Side opportunity. Speak to him and ask about his life's worth. He will become uncomfortable and mention guards. Force persuade him to give you credits; he will react strangely, indicating a negative effect. Dark Side players can still threaten him for DSP without using Force persuasion.
- 14Exit the lodge. A Duros will express disdain towards a human woman. This woman is Bastila's mother and this conversation only occurs if you have initiated the side quest for Bastila. The Duros will state that Helena is in the cantina.

- Zaalbar can give you grenades, Canderous can give you stimulants, and Mission can give you security spikes upon request.
- You can learn the girl's language for LSP, or order her off the ship for DSP.
- The docking fee on Tatooine is 100 credits if you are not on the schedule.
- You can sell the gizka later; do not kill them with gizka poison.
