A guide to exploring the apartment complex in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, including finding loot, interacting with NPCs like Carth and Dia, and navigating the Upper City.
Walkthrough
- 1Apartment Complex Exploration: Begin by exploring your apartment complex. Use the security skill on low-security doors. From your apartment, go east to find a footlocker with loot. Continue along the circular walkway to another door containing an Ithorian and a bag with goodies. Note that the next door leads to the Upper City, but it's not time to go there yet. Keep going to find another low-security door with a Twilek and more goodies in a bag.
- 2Merchant Encounter: A merchant will mention energy shields. Avoid buying from him as his prices are inflated.
- 3Dia's Bounty: Speak with Dia, who has a bounty on her head for cutting Holdan. Light players can choose to speak with Holdan in the lower city cantina later (Light Side Points are awarded after speaking to him). Dark players can choose to collect the bounty and kill her for Dark Side Points. Telling Dia you will rob the place does not yield Dark Side Points.
- 4Janitor Interaction: The janitor can provide information about the city and suggests the cantina for more details.
- 5Upper City South & Rapid Transit: Exit the complex via the southernmost door into the Upper City South. You will receive a journal entry explaining the Rapid Transit System. This system allows you to transport back to your hideout from the map screen (press X), provided you are not in a dangerous area or combat. Transporting to your hideout instantly heals your party. You can then select transit back to your previous location. Use this feature to familiarize yourself with it.
- 6Kebla's Shop: Walk south to find Kebla's Shop. Light players should purchase a premacrete detonator for a future quest. Both light and dark players should buy 4-5 frag grenades. You can sell unwanted items if you are short on credits.
- 7Cantina & Pazaak: Continue south to the cantina. Speak to Garouk, who sells Pazaak decks and can teach you the game. While not essential to the storyline, Pazaak can be an enjoyable diversion.
Tips
- Be aware that a Pazaak deck can be acquired for free much later in the game from a footlocker.
- Garouk is believed to offer the lowest price for a Pazaak deck if you choose to purchase one early.
- Loot from footlockers and bags.
- Potential Light Side or Dark Side Points depending on choices with Dia.
- Information about the city and its inhabitants.
