Gameplay Mechanics:

1. Unification Stage: This phase borrows from turn-based strategy games. Players manage land on a map, plan troop movements, and can assign AI control to armies once a certain size is reached. Each character has one action per turn, representing one month. A maximum of six characters can be stationed in a castle.
2. Character-Pokémon Link: Characters can build compatibility, or a "Link," with Pokémon. This can be done by visiting castle towns or fighting wild Pokémon. Successfully taming wild Pokémon allows for multiple Link options. Compatibility is shown with bronze, silver, or gold medals; an 'X' indicates no Link is possible. Each character has a "Best Link Pokémon" that can achieve 100% linkage.
3. Evolution and Forms: Pokémon can evolve, with some requiring Evolutionary Stones. Characters can also change their appearance based on their Link percentage with their Pokémon. The protagonist has three forms based on strength, and Warlords have multiple ranks.
4. Battle Stage: Battles occur on specialized grid-based battlefields. Up to six generals/Pokémon per side can participate.
5. Warrior Skills: Characters can use unique "Warrior Skills" once per battle to aid their Pokémon.
6. Equipment: Items found or purchased can provide supplementary assistance in battles.
