Evolution Items and Where to Find Them

Evolution is a cornerstone of Pokémon progression, and in Pokémon Conquest, it's often tied to specific items that trigger the transformation of your Pokémon. These evolution items are not always readily available and can require dedicated effort to acquire. Understanding which items are needed for which Pokémon and where to find them is crucial for unlocking the full potential of your team.

The most common evolution items are the elemental stones: Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, Leaf Stone, and Moon Stone. Each of these stones is used by specific Pokémon to evolve. For example, a Growlithe will evolve into Arcanine when exposed to a Fire Stone, and an Eevee can evolve into Vaporeon with a Water Stone. These stones are often found in specific locations or purchased from shops. The Shop in Aurora Kingdom, for instance, frequently stocks a selection of these elemental stones.

Beyond the elemental stones, there are other specialized evolution items. The Metal Coat is used to evolve Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor. The Dragon Scale is required for Seadra to evolve into Kingdra. These items are typically rarer than elemental stones and might be found as rewards for completing specific missions or defeating certain Warriors. For example, the Metal Coat might be a rare drop from a Warrior who specializes in Steel-type Pokémon, such as Tadakatsu Honda.

Some Pokémon evolve through trading while holding a specific item. While direct trading isn't a mechanic in Pokémon Conquest, certain items mimic this effect. For instance, the King's Rock is used to evolve Slowpoke into Slowking and Poliwhirl into Politoed. This item is often found in hidden areas or as a reward for achieving high Link percentages with certain Pokémon. Another example is the Up-Grade, which evolves Porygon into Porygon2.

The location of these items can vary. Elemental stones are often found in areas with corresponding elemental themes. A Water Stone might be found near a lake or waterfall, while a Leaf Stone could be in a dense forest. Rarer items like the Soothe Bell (used for certain friendship evolutions, though less common in Conquest) or the Dubious Disc (for Porygon-Z) are typically found in more challenging dungeons or as rewards for defeating powerful Warlords. Keep an eye on the item descriptions and the environments where you find them, as they often provide clues. For instance, finding a Dubious Disc might be associated with a battle against a technologically advanced Warrior or in a research facility.
