Nacrene City

Your guide to Nacrene City in Pokémon Black and White. Find items, battle N, and prepare for the Gym! Get tips and strategies to help you progress.

Nacrene City is a place steeped in history, with an old rail track running along its south side. It's a city that really respects the past, and you'll find plenty to do here before you take on the next Gym.

As soon as you arrive, the somewhat irritating Cheren will greet you and escort you to the Pokémon Center. He'll even give you a free berry, so make sure to give it to one of your Pokémon to hold!

The next Gym is located to the very north of the city. Before you head in, though, you'll have a battle against the charming 'N'.

Trainer Battle: N

N uses a team with Fighting-type Pokémon, which are strong but weak against Flying and Psychic types. Here's what you'll face:

This battle isn't too difficult. Just be careful if Timburr starts using its moves against your Normal-type Pokémon. Also, if you chose Tepig as your starter, try to keep it away from N's Tympole.

Once you've defeated N, you're free to enter the Nacrene Gym.

• Dowsing Machine (available after beating the Gym)

Trainer Battle Item

An Ace Trainer in the city will give you one of the following items, depending on your starter Pokémon:

• Miracle Seed (if you started with Oshawott)
• Charcoal (if you started with Snivy)
• Mystic Water (if you started with Tepig)

Points of Interest

• Nacrene Gym: This Gym doubles as a museum and is where you can revive Fossils you find throughout your journey.
• Trading Girl: A girl in the city is looking to trade Pokémon. In Pokémon Black, she wants a Cottonee for her Petilil. In Pokémon White, she wants a Petilil for her Cottonee.
