Discover how to catch all the legendary and mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Black and White, including Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Kyurem.
Alright, so you've beaten the main story and you're ready to hunt down some of the most powerful Pokémon in the game – the Legendaries! These guys are super rare and super strong, so catching them is a real badge of honor. Let's go over how to snag each one.
Victini
First up is Victini, who's technically a Mythical Pokémon because it's so darn rare. You'll need a special 'Liberty Pass' for this one. It was given out over Wi-Fi for a limited time, so if you managed to grab one, you're in luck! Head to the westernmost port in Castelia City and take the boat to Liberty Island. You'll have to deal with some Team Plasma grunts, but once you get past them, you can find and catch Victini. It's only Level 15, so it's a good one to start with!
Reshiram/Zekrom
These two are the box art legendaries and are exclusive to your version of the game. You'll encounter one during the main story, but if you missed it or want the other, you'll need to head to the Dragonspiral Tower. To get both, you'll definitely need a friend to trade with.
Cobalion
Cobalion is one of the legendary musketeers. To find it, you'll need the HMs Surf and Flash. Head north from Route 6 and follow the water east until you find a cave. Inside, you'll need Flash to see and HM04 Strength to move some big boulders. Just navigate through the cave, and you'll find Cobalion chilling in a dead-end, ready to battle.
Terrakion
This tough-looking Pokémon is available after you've caught Cobalion. A new cave opens up near the end of Victory Road. From the road's peak, take the door on the right, then the stairs to the left. You'll need to push a boulder to get to the cave entrance where Terrakion is waiting.
Virizion
Another one of the musketeers, Virizion also shows up after you've caught Cobalion. This time, a new area will open up on the east side of Pinwheel Forest. Head as far east as you can, then go north along the tree line. You'll find Virizion in a quiet glade.
Tornadus/Thundurus
These two are version-exclusive legendaries. They're pretty elusive because they roam around and will try to run from battle very quickly. After you meet your respective legendary during the story, they'll start appearing in the southern routes in the morning and northern routes in the evening. Your best bet for catching them is to use the Master Ball you get during the story, or use moves like Mean Look or Spider Web to stop them from fleeing.
Landorus
To find the mighty Landorus, you absolutely need both Tornadus and Thundurus in your party. You'll need to trade with someone who has the other version to get both. Once you have them, head to the Abundant Shrine by surfing left on Route 14. Landorus will swoop down to challenge you, but be warned – he's a Level 70 Pokémon, so come prepared!
Kyurem
Kyurem is found after you've beaten the game, deep within the Giant Chasm on Route 13. This area only becomes accessible after the credits roll. Explore the Giant Chasm by heading towards the middle in a spiral. You'll eventually reach a frozen area and find a cave at the very north where Kyurem resides. This one is Level 75, so make sure your team is strong enough before you go hunting!
