Paladins Road to Jurayn - Hagudo walkthrough: navigate dangerous caves, find the Bow, and reach Hagudo Mining Town.
First thing's first, equip the Fth h on Chezni.
Northwest of your landing spot, there's a hut where you can rest and save your game (a checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)), and the patron at the table poses as an item shop in case you need to refill your bottles. Once you're done there, leave and head east, looping around the cliff to the south. From the fork here, east will take you back to Ratsurk, while west will take you toward Jurayn. So head west.
Regarding the path to Ratsurk - it was actually closed off by some rocks when you were making your way to the skuruu camp. These rock get cleared away or otherwise mysteriously vanish after taking out Jarmlu. There's no reason to head back to Ratsurk, and it even appears the skuruu have moved on, as nomads are inclined to do.
Anyway, to the cave. Be careful in here - this is the first of many areas where the random encounters can be quite dangerous. The Smush es in particular can deal a around 40-60 points of multi-target damage to both your characters, and you'll also want to do your best to avoid having the Redball s explode, as that can deal upwards of 100 points of multi-target damage (and you'll lose the experience and cash gains from defeating them). The Slimy enemies can (infrequently) poison you, and deal around 60-70 points of damage to one character. Finally, the Leech es, while not particularly dangerous on their own, tend to come in groups of anywhere from three to seven. They have one attack that deals around 20-40 points of damage to one character, and another attack that hits for 20-30 damage while restoring HP equal to the damage dealt. They can easily wear you down with superior turn economy and unexpected survivability. All that said, it's probably wise to top yourself off between each encounter.
Inside the cave, follow the path west, pick up the Bow along the way, then head south from the treasure box. Cross the bridge at the end into the mining town of Hagudo.
Hagudo Mining Town
The first house is an abandoned weapon shop, where you can lift a Wood bt from the owner's treasure chest. If you do, he'll be upset with you when he returns and won't sell you anything unless you pay him 1000G (for reference, a Wood bt typically goes for 34G). The issue is that he doesn't return to his shop until after the next dungeon, at which point his selection is nothing special and you're a very short trek away from a better shop. He's really not giving you much incentive _not_ to rob him, is he?
In the next house you'll find a guy looting it, but you won't get anything for catching him. Just move on. On the second level, the item shop sells everything at half price, but you shouldn't have a need for any of it unless you got mauled by the enemies in the cave. If you can wait a bit, the shop keeper will give away Medicine for free shortly. In the easternmost house on this level is the elder, who seems to think Smash can stop the magma from rising. Smash is depressed because his son was killed and the magma took his job or something. Then the elder asks the two strange children that just walked into his house to convince Smash to do something.
Leave the elder's house and climb the east ladder to find the pub. Inside, check the left-most cabinet behind the bar to find a Minibl, then talk to Smash (the off-colored godom sitting at the bar). He'll call the piano player a jerk and ask you to get him to play Godom Lullaby. Go talk to piano player and he will confirm Smash's contention that he is, in fact, a jerk. After the conversation, an earthquake will hit the town.
The only hint about your next step comes from the barkeeper, so leave the bar. Outside, as you descend the ladder, you'll notice that the magma has risen a level (indicated by the earthquake). Head up the west ladder this time to the inn and go into the left room where two dancers are staying. Talk to the one standing and she'll ask you for a favor - to go into the well and retrieve some glowing scales so she can heal her sister.
Exit the inn and jump into the big blue bucket. Random encounters will resume in this area with the same enemies that you fought in the cave a moment ago.
Head south, circling the magma pool in the middle and ignoring the bridge to the east. Instead, turn west and grab the Glow sc from the, uh... glowing scales dispenser... thing. This will set off another earthquake. Take the Glow sc back to the dancers and use them on the bed-ridden one, then talk to the one next to the bed and she'll ask you to take them to the tavern. Re-enter the bucket and this time take the eastern bridge, then head north and you'll come up behind the bar in the tavern. Go talk to the piano player and the dancers will...
