Guide to Paladins' Noi Gren - Imprisoned mission. Learn how to escape Zaygos' Castle, recruit Blades, and defeat the boss Lokiarn with the Kormu gear.
You awaken in a cell with two other people. Speak with them, then check the right wall and stew around in your cell for a while. Don't forget to re-equip Chezni if you had him wearing any of the Kormu gear before - the Anq gear is a good alternative if you grabbed it from the tower south of Karon.
Eventually, Fiery will blow a hole in the wall and rescue you. She will join your party. There are also two mercenaries down here: Chen, your cellmate, and Blades, through the hole Fiery blew. Blades is an excellent magician and a great help for the upcoming boss fight, making him the best choice for this dungeon. If you are trying to have every mercenary appear in the ending, briefly hire Chen.
Random encounters will resume once you leave your cell. Find the NPC to re-fill your bottles and exit via the east stairs. The south leads to NPCs who praise Zaygos, Noi Gren, and Gabnid.
The random enemies include Hermits (who heal allies), Rackgorns (who hit up to five times per turn for 30-40 damage), Patriots (with innate ATback, be careful attacking physically), and G.Sages (resistant to most magic, but vulnerable to Bury and Storm). G.Sages cast STRup on allies, and Daze or Freeze your party members.
This dungeon is linear. Follow the path, skip the first building to retrieve your Kormu sw, enter the second building for your Kormu ht, and the final small building for your Kormu ar. Continue west into the larger building.
Upon entry, Fiery will remind you to re-equip the Kormu gear. Do so before reaching the machine up ahead or you'll fight Lokiarn with no chance to win. You need all three pieces of Kormu gear equipped to damage him.
Boss Fight: Lokiarn
- HP: 798
- Atk: 500
- Def: 55
- Spd: 165
- Exp: 3000
- G: 0
Lokiarn has massive attack power. One attack deals 400-500 damage to one person, and another deals over 300 damage to your entire party (though he usually misses at least one character).
Strategy:
- Keep Chezni alive, as he's the only one that can damage Lokiarn.
- Have Blades start with DFup and Fiery with STRup, both on Chezni.
- Midia can start with SPup, though it may not be necessary as Lokiarn is slow.
- After buffing Chezni, Blades should DFup Midia, then defend along with Fiery.
- Midia should defend when no healing is needed.
- Fiery can use Dft P if needed.
- Chezni should use Kormu sw the entire battle.
- DFdown may not stick but is likely not needed due to Lokiarn's abysmal defense. With STRup, Chezni deals close to 250 damage per hit.
After the fight, all Kormu gear is destroyed. Equip new gear (Anq gear is good). Everything in the area will start blowing up before Zaygos arrives, and Fiery will leave. Go down the hole behind the machine to fall into some ancient ruins.
